Springfield, Ill., Jul 20, 2016 / 12:04 am (CNA/EWTN News).- Some news reports got it wrong: Philadelphia Archbishop Charles Chaput’s guidelines on Holy Communion and divorce-and-remarriage were “certainly correct” and in line with Pope Francis and Catholic teaching, an Illinois bishop has said.
“The Bible clearly teaches about the proper disposition to receive Holy Communion in the First Letter to the Corinthians,” Bishop Thomas Paprocki of Springfield in Illinois said July 15.
St. Paul says in that letter that those who receive unworthily will be “guilty of profaning the body and blood of the Lord.”

Good article, it is good to see another bishop standing up for one of his comrades and correcting the media, which has been spreading much misinformation the last few years. One quote that I found interesting and a bit amusing:

"…in-flight press conferences on an airplane, apostolic exhortations and footnotes “by their very nature are not vehicles for introducing or amending legislative texts or making dogmatic pronouncements.” "

Good for both bishops, and also the many others who have not been quoted in the news, but hold to one of the most important things that makes us Catholic. Paul tells us in First Corinthians that receiving the Eucharist unworthily is not profaning a symbol, but the actual body and blood of Christ. If we stop believing that, we are no longer Catholic.
