Frankly, I would be soooo thrilled if all Catholics did their gift exchanges on Epiphiny instead of 25 December.
My own opinion isthat Christmas has lost out; to Chri$tma$ and “Happy Holidays”
It would be so refreshingly spiritual to ditch all the Happy Holidays glitter and lights, by a return to Advent. Reflection until sundown on 24 December. THEN lights and celebration, but still no gift exchanes. Celebrate the 12 Days Of Christmas. And finally, to cap it all off, Epiphiny and the exchange of gifts.
Yes, most american catholics are so caught up in “Happy Holidays” that they will continue to downplay advent, and continue to exchange gifts on 25 December.
