Homilies with accurate content and no minced words would be nice, but an exorcism, although rarely used, is a very powerful rite of the Church. It is the act of driving out, or warding off, demons or evil spirits from persons, places or things believed to be possessed or infested by them. The Catechism states that it “asks publicly and authoritatively in the name of Jesus Christ that a person or object be protected against the power of the Evil One and withdrawn from his dominion…”
As I said before, I think an “exorcism” is highly appropriate as a tool to battle evil in the form of this particular political persuasion.

Reading up on the Church’s teaching as regards diabolical activity.
Read the relevant Catechism paragraphs, including the one pointed to by Pope (then Cardinal) Francis in his statement (CCC 392), which was referenced in Mr. Bay’s post. Read the Catholic Encyclopedia entry.
Found this slide-show or power-point summary of the Church’s teaching based on the Catechism, including the references it uses to Scripture, Church Councils on the topic, Church Fathers and Saints on the topic as well as theologians and nicely also includes statements from the modern Papal Magisterium (Pope Paul VI, Bl. Pope John Paul the Great) on the topic.
I found the following slide (#32 of 45) interesting and relevant, especially to the Bishop’s use of Exorcism:

The enormous upsurge especially in the last twenty years, but getting more focus and spotlight in the media and entertainment industry in the last ten, in the paranormal and exotic (like psychics, the so-called “Secret” book and stuff) also speaks to this. From my experience with friends or relatives who are lead by such things in curiosity to take an interest in them always - absolutely always - leads to addictions and obsessions and bizarreness: they nearly always become obsessed with conspiracies and start to become quite anarchistic and increasingly socially awkward, etc. Their heads become filled with absolute silliness and nonsense that makes it hard to take them seriously. You also worry sometimes about their mental health because their ideas become so erratic and contradictory.
For some reason the avenue of interest the paranormal (including “alien” nonsense) leads to -especially on the web, though there is no shortage of pseudo-scholarship available in book form, for example- is always a negative route, though there are many “paths” and “brands”. Not one is even remotely wholesome.
I also can’t help but notice that a lot more of the horror-paranormal genre seems to be deliberately availing itself of Church teachings on these matters and re-packaging them. No doubt this wider interest in possession and exorcisms in that genre was kicked-off or begun by the famous “The Exorcist” movie. Too often there are patterns and themes that are too closely “by the book”: i.e., situations constructed that seem like someone read a check-list of traditional signs of demonic activity and included each point, though often subtly and without directing attention to or pointing explicitly at the demonic (by suggesting aliens instead, for instance; or that he’s just psychologically troubled, like Dexter and his “dark passenger”!]).
A quick search engine gets this result:
All of this stuff distorts and divorces us from reality. It is no wonder it is increasingly difficult for average people to see the shear madness in re-defining marriage, for instance.

It’s unnecessary, as I said. It’s unnecessary because we shouldn’t be trying to condemn same-sex marriage. We should honestly be praying for all marriages, straight or same-sex. We should be praying that they be fruitful and beneficial to the common good. Not trying to exorcise what is fine. Not everything deviant from the standard is of the Devil.

Several years ago, an associate pastor at my parish would often read from the Compendium of the Catechism of the Catholic Church during his homilies. One day I told him how his homilies were beneficial for us “clueless Catholics”. I miss him and his homilies. He’s at another parish now.

I am not defying the teachings of the Church by supporting something in line with civil law. I 100% support the CC’s efforts to keep and maintain their idea of sacramental marriage.

The poster rejects that gay so called marriage is from Satan, which the Pope has essentially indicated and Bishop Paprocki has unequivocally declared.
The success of same sex ‘marriage’ movement can be attributed among other things to Catholics who justify, give cover, and facilitate the legalization of this radical social experiment which rejects the natural family. At the least, they want the Church hierarchy and faithful to do nothing and to just look away.
Proponents of same sex ‘marriage’ like to make a distinction between civil and religious marriage which is a false one. To separate marriage from its religious and civil dimensions does not resolve religious liberty threats or prevent marriage from becoming unmoored from its foundation in the natural family.

Rather, we as Catholics need to preach Truth and reject all that is Falsehood.

Take off the blinders that the Father of Lies put on you. Yes, you are defying Church teaching on marriage. Civil SS’M’ has already started to harm and destroy the family and society.
The message of the Pope and bishops can not be made more clear. Don’t replace the authority of the Faith with the artificial and expedient authority of the State.
