Bishop urges Catholic school to go ahead with talk by pro-abortion Justin Trudeau

For those who don’t know, Justin Trudeau supports Gay Marriage, Abortion on demand, ridiculed the Holy Father and the bishops when he stated that ‘we are the new generation, we don’t have to listen to old men and their old fashioned ideas’

Regarding the event, the Bishop said the following, “Mr. Trudeau is a practicing Catholic, married in the Church with two children. He is not estranged from the Church in any way,” Plouffe said in a statement to the school board, obtained by LifeSiteNews. “In many ways he can be a source of inspiration to the youth.”

Perhaps the Bishop needs a refresher on Catholicism 101?
 
If the only criteria you look at to judge whether or not someone is a practicing Catholic is the presumed validity of his/her marriage, then Justin meets the criteria – even if there were abuses during the ceremony.

Unfortunately, you have to look deeper than that.
 
Let him speak…and then have a Pro Life person refute what he says. Good learning experience.
 
It would appear that not only the Bishop but the Catholic School head and the purported practising catholic - Justin Trudeau should all be referred to Canon Law S 1398.

Abortion is a very dangerous subject to talk about let alone procure… S 1398 states that anybody that either directly or indirectly helps, procures or in anyway assists in the completion of an abortion is automatically excommunicated from the Universal Catholic Church.

I believe that for all the leaders involved in putting into effect this presentation by Justin Trudeau to the more vulnerable members of our Church - at the very least must ensure that clear reference is made to Canon Law S 1398 and to the very serious implications to all those involved who fall foul of this Law…
 
Mr.Trudeau has the potential to be very inspiring. If he were to change his views on these issues his story would shake the foundation that many liberal Catholics base their own political views.

Pray for Mr. Trudeau…I am.
 
Just to be clear here, the Bishop can’t do anything to stop Justin Trudeau as in Canada the Diocesan Bishop has no real control of what goes on in the schools.

However, that doesn’t justify his comments regarding Justin and the serious confusion he is sowing in Catholic’s minds regarding Justin’s beliefs that contradict Catholic teaching.
 
Note to Jala:- not sure but they probably would find it difficult to muzzle him once he had veered off any pre-determined agreed agenda onto his own freeflow agenda. After all he doesn’t appear to be standing up and talking without any already known baggage attachments!
 
My poor poor country! Trudeau may have become a false god for the liberals of Canada but I really expected the Church to at least stand up and point out that although he may have been born, raised, and married Catholic today he is certainly not in communion with the Church for his scandalous views on abortion, gay marriage, etc.

I recognize the Bishop has little authority in who can and cannot speak at a school but at least have the moral strength to refute his views in public. All this is doing is confusing the lay members of the Church in what a true Catholic believes.

With another Trudeau at the helm, my beloved Canada will become even more ‘progressive’ and I fear we will see even more attacks against the Church and Canadian morality in the future.

I will pray for my country and I will especially pray for the Bishop that in the future he understands it is better to take a stance for your beliefs than to bow down because there person is considered popular.

I doubt that he’s going into the schools to speak on this topic. He is campaigning for the Leadership of the Liberal Party and he’s most likely going into the school to talk to the students about getting involved in the political process - an important thing in this day and age of youth apathy about politics.

He probably has his dad’s capacity to convince someone to get involved. It was his father’s election as Leader of the Liberal Party in April 1968, when I was 14, that sparked my life-long interest in politics. Doesn’t mean that I agreed with everything the man did while at the helm.

Without warning, Catholic* parents** of the** children** at that school** need** to keep their children at** home** on the** day** of Trudeau’s speech! *
Action always speak louder than words! *
When asked "why" they did this, let them respond " Trudeau’s* disrespect** towards Pope Benedict and the Teaching Magisterium of the
Catholic Church". The ball is than in the school’s court!
*If Catholic parents at that school are not concerned with who is giving a speech to there children or what seeds of doubt or rebellion towards *
the authority of the Catholic Church could be planted in their young minds, than what can others really do about any of these situations. The first
responsibity for their children’s education* belongs *to them!!

Now, you might disagree with the Catholic position, you might oppose it, but “repulsive?” The inescapable logic is that everybody who opposes gay-straight alliances is repulsive, which is not very inclusive or tolerant, Justin.
