Hi Mr Fausto;
How are we feeling today, about this thread? Did anything we say help, yesterday?

If that makes you more comfortable. But there’s no moral reason why you couldn’t. As to movies, I presume you are talking about the aforementioned History Channel documentaries, not pornography.So should I not be playing SimCity or watching movies that involve this or whatever? Is it bad to seek out the movies or even watch them, or what?..
Don’t worry about it.** Involuntary body reactions that happen on their own, that you have not done anything to cause to happen or to continue happening, are not sins. You don’t need to mention them in confession at all.**…I want to say this to my confessor, but I find myself awkwardly interiorly muted when I come around to it.![]()
Well, it helped my anxiety, but I’m afraid it will encourage my seeking out these things, but I don’t know.Hi Mr Fausto;

aw, how so?Well, it helped my anxiety, but I’m afraid it will encourage my seeking out these things, but I don’t know.
Or movies that is. But when I go ahead watch them, is that causing or what? I don’t go hoping for the reaction (I hope, I have a sneaky subconscious) but there are times I nevertheless go ahead and whatever.If that makes you more comfortable. By letting loose of anxieties if I read Pit and the Pendulum for example or rent/buy/watch/magically make appear a movie which such a scene. I don’t want to be wanton liberal on this issue either.aw, how so?![]()
I don’t know what you mean by the last statement.By letting loose of anxieties if I read Pit and the Pendulum for example or rent/buy/watch/magically make appear a movie which such a scene. I don’t want to be wanton liberal on this issue either.
Like if I go out renting a movie with such scene or reading such material with the knowledge and perhaps subconscious desire to seek these scenes out. There are two sides to the question, I guess, when both I encounter these scenes through no fault of my own and then when I get this nasty little urge out of nowhere, it seems, to seek them out.I don’t know what you mean by the last statement.
Oh, I see now what you mean. Yeah, that is part of the human condition…like St Paul commented…he didn’t want to sin, his flesh was weak, but the spirit is willing. As long as we keep striving to steer clear of sin, and temptation TO sin, that is the important thing. If this is a source of newfound temptation for you to becoming aroused, then it’s best to avoid…at least until you can view such things without that happening. Praying for you.Like if I go out renting a movie with such scene or reading such material with the knowledge and perhaps subconscious desire to seek these scenes out. I suppose then we are not allowed to seek out, consciously or subconsciously those things that might cause us such a physiological reaction…duh…but I’ve honestly never actually heard that before…that’s what I need to hear I think, to close the silly ‘loopholes’ that my mind tries to find…thank you very much for your prayers!Oh, I see now what you mean. cravings have no special meaning. just your body, doing what it does. it just is.I want to, but you’ve caught me in those sporadic moments where my mind is all over the place on this. The VAST majority of the time I don’t give this a second thought…but gah, it’s like a craving for that favourite juice or ice cream…it only comes once in a while but when it comes :doh2:
I agree, adreneline rush. You are male, adolescence lasts until about 21 in males.Mr Fausto;
I think that it could be an adrenaline rush from visually stimulating scenes such as what you describe… I think that due to your age, it could be the reason, but I would probably avoid those things if you feel that it ‘could’ be a near occasion to sin. Not everyone fits a cookie cutter mold of what they find exciting/arousing so that is my guess. I wouldn’t worry over it, but I’d seek maybe different forms of visualization. God bless.
