Blasphemous Photo?

There is nothing “blasphemous” about the mere age of the couple playing Joseph and Mary.

If this was a mildly jokey photo for a Christmas card or a picture of a costume party or something, it sounds like the joke should have been kept to a smaller audience who shares the couple’s sense of humor. Obviously they circulated it a little too far and bothered some sensibilities, but if they are good Catholics/ Christians otherwise, then it seems safe to say that they likely did not mean anything bad by it.

I wouldn’t worry about it, especially since you’ve apparently already expressed that you didn’t like the joke, which means they probably won’t be sending you any more such jokes.

Hi Mary,

Thank you very much for being so supportive. They probably all think
that I have become a terrible Puritan since I converted, but I would have
had the same attitude before. I wouldn’t have said anything, but I was asked
what I thought! Anyway, I will try not to discuss controversial topics with
them in future.
It won’t ruin my Christmas!
