Blood sausage is one of my favourite “fast food” dinners. Here in Korea, there are a tonne of food carts in popular pedestrian areas, and they all tend to have a big steamer with blood sausage and organ meats inside. Cheap and delicious eats! (Although I don’t often get a side of organ meats with my blood sausage.)

I remember likeing it as a kid too…wont eat it know though. I thing the snouts gross me out more than the blood though.

I think the full use of the entire beast is a good thing. It’s respectful. In a world where many starve, figuring out ways to make a distasteful thing edible is a virtue! Don’t ever check out the ingredients in a hot dog.

Of f subject-I was at my local Korean grocery (which also serves the local Russian population) and couldn’t figure out why I saw GALLONS of beef blood for sale. Eew.
Thanks for answering my question, inadvertently!

You think anything better goes into your average wiener or bratwurst? 🤷

To quote Homer Simpson: ‘Mmmm, snouts and entrails …’

Better not let anyone see me putting ketchup on my kilbasa then… 😛
blasphemy! 😃

What’s next? BBQ sauce and perogies? Or perhaps Sledzie and hot sauce? (scratch that, sledzie is disgusting no matter what you do - the only thing that goes with it is vodka, and that’s by necessity! I think vodka is the only thing powerful enough to make you forget/clear your palette of sledzie)

Hi.

There is nothing that Catholics are not allowed to eat in the sense of something being “unclean” (i.e., Kosher, Halal).

Personally I have tried blood sausage several times and I can’t say I am a big fan, it doesn’t really taste like anything imho.

humans 🙂

I don’t think I’m going to be having visions of sugar plums tonight.

Even human flesh in a life and death situation wouldn’t be sinful, IMHO. I don’t think the people in that plane crash in the Andes sinned by consuming the flesh of their fellow passengers after their death in order to survive the ordeal. I only wonder about the nightmares they endured afterwards.

Well there is another verse from the new testament that also prohibits blood

Acts 15:19 For which cause I judge that they, who from among the Gentiles are converted to God, are not to be disquieted.
20 But that we write unto them, that they refrain themselves from the pollutions of idols, and from fornication, and from things strangled, and from blood.
21 For Moses of old time hath in every city them that preach him in the synagogues, where he is read every sabbath.

But was it as verse 21 says maybe for people not to get confused?
As Jesus before that had declared all food permissible and clean, and surely the apostles must have known this.

So was it a prohibition for avoiding confusion amongst the jews?
Or did the gentiles also have some prohibition of blood?
