Okay, back to the lake - this is really a story about how popular Donald Trump is, how small Lake Travis is, how redneck Texans are, or some combination of all all three. Seriously, there was a tremendous turn out. It was more than they thought. But boats, at certain speeds, create wakes. Larger boats can create wakes larger than some small boats. There are actual boating laws, like traffic laws, to prevent this, but no one paid much attention. On the bright side, it is a beautiful lake to go swimming in.
