I would almost guarantee he is not so much a friend as a ‘project’. 😃
Well because he’s a Saudi citizen he can’t convert to Christianity legally. And I hate to let the Bob Jones University professor down but he already told me that if he was a Christian he would be Catholic. He actually got me a little statue of the Madonna and the child Jesus for Christmas. I’m thankful to have friends like him because he thinks I know alot about my faith

Free Presbyterians are an interesting bunch. I have visited their church a few times, and they are like any other Fundamentalist Baptist group, except that they proudly support Calvinist theology. In my opinion, they are not really Presbyterian because most frown upon (and some churches even do not practice) infant baptism.

They only allow attendance at one of the following churches: bju.edu/admission/admitted-students/choosing-a-church.php#churches One hears stories about how they send their Public Safety vehicles around the area looking for people breaking the rules in this regard and writing their tag number down.

It’s a very controlling and legalistic environment at best. 😦
What happens to you if you go to a different church? What would they do if someone were to go to a Catholic Church? Is that something for which they could expel you?

Yes, they would either expel you or give you a ton of demerits and put you under a “Counselling” program with regular follow-up to de-Catholize you.

That’s exactly right. The culture at BJU is cultic in it’s control.
BJU has probably created more Catholics than Scott Hahn. 😉

That’s interesting. I assume that the student would know that going into that school, but isn’t booting someone out of a school on the basis of their religion a bit discriminatory? How does that not get taken to court?

In SC, they can get away with that, unfortunately. 😦

They have an approved list of off-campus churches one can attend, none of which are Catholic churches.
