Boy, 18, in coma, accident, 2 friends killed

Please pray for the souls of the two young men killed this morning in this accident and for their families. Also, please pray for our 18 year old nephew, Ian, who has survived the accident, but is in ICU with a brain injury in a coma, and has a broken femur.

Saints that have come to mind in the moment for us from past devotions are Saint Joseph, Mary, Saint Anthony, Saint Philomena. I have also thought about asking Fulton Sheen for intercession after hearing about one of the miracles related to his cause. Please suggest Saints for intercession in this case of a brain inury.

Our Father,

We ask you to lay your hand on Ian. Please heal the brain damage he has suffered and bring him out of his coma. Give the doctors the wisdom they need to treat him. We are believing for a miracle, Lord. Thank you for wonderful love and care.

We also pray for the souls of the two men who were killed. Bless their families and give them strength to get through this hard time. Give them peace that only you can give.

Our Blessed Mother Mary,

Join us in praying for Ian. May he come out of this situation completely healed of his brain damage and broken femur. Also remember the families of the young men who passed away.

Lord Jesus only you can heal us, we ask for your presence and comfort over Ian and his family. We humbly ask for a miracle, Lord, for comfort and understanding in this situation.

For Ian’s friends who were killed, have mercy on their souls and for their family who will now have to learn to live without them here on earth.

We ask this in your mercy Lord, amen.

Prayer to Blessed John Paul the Great
O Blessed Trinity, we thank You for having graced the church with Pope John Paul II and for allowing the tenderness of Your fatherly care, the glory of the cross of Christ, and the splendor of the Holy Spirit, to shine through him. Trusting fully in Your Infinite Mercy and in the maternal intercession of Mary, he has given us a living image of Jesus the Good Shepherd, and has shown us that holiness is the necessary measure of ordinary Christian life and is the way of achieving eternal communion with You. Grant us, by his intercession, and according to Your will, the graces we implore, hoping that he will soon be numbered among your saints. Amen.

Praying that Ian will make a full recovery from his injuries. Praying too for comfort for his family, and for the souls of his two friends and their families.
 
May the souls of the two friends who died rest in peace. May Ian come out of the coma and fully recover. But do remember that even if Ian has a brain injury, of any size, his soul is not at all harmed.

I’m praying to St. Thomas Aquinas because he had an excellent mind (a powerful brain) and knows the worth of the intellect. I’m praying also to St. Therese of Lisieux because her mind was simpler but used just in the way that God wanted. A good brain is a great gift, and may God protect Ian’s.

And always we should pray to Our Lady.

Praying for your nephew …
 
We thank everyone for their prayers and intercession. The doctors are not offering much hopefulness. We are asking for miraculous healing by the intercession of these prayers and of the saints if it is within the Will of God for this healing to happen.
