I did not know where to put this, but its for all faiths, so I put it here. Many people do not agree with the Popes teaching. But did the Man not call a spade a spade.😃
**
5 or 6 years ago he said that the financial crisis slipping into the world today is because many build their house on Sand not Rock.**

He said man has build their house on sand, Thats why the banks are collapsing, they did not build their life on Rock the word of God.

And did he not call it. How many people are so sick, and upset for what they have lost in money, homes, etc. But how many are trusting in God instead of money???

How many people trust the word of God more then the money in the bank. The Pope saw it comming, and he did warn us, did he not? But we refused to listen.

How many of us still refuse to listen to what he is telling us, THE WORD OF GOD.

How many of us have learned our lesson now, and are going to re-build that house on ROCK this time, instead of SAND?

I know I learned my lesson, and my house is ROCK SOLID NOW! How many times must we sit back and watch our houses wash away before we learn to trust in GOD COMPLETELY!!

I now can say I have no anxiety anymore, I gave up my 401k statements, I don’t even look at em. Could care less. Sure I still put away, and I have faith in God when the time Comes I will have enough. Lets just say I just got me a new BANKER!!😃

Dont worry they have more information then the average person. Watch THE ARRIVALS liveleak.com/view?i=0a5_1255111255. This is the big idea.

Dont worry this is based on quran, hadith, bible, torah. Must see. This is for everyone no matter what religion they come from.

if you dont have time pt25 and pt26 is the concluding parts of the big idea…

Bless you for the kind words, Spun. And I share your sentiment COMPLETELY about Palin. Her handlers came out and exposed the fact that during the McCain campaign she didn’t know there was a north and south korea, she hadn’t heard of the Korean War nor did she know the result of it. She hardly knew of Vietnam, didn’t know what the Fed was at all or how it could raise or lower interest rates, etc. She hadn’t a clue about Iraq or the economy. Her main claim to fame is she didn’t abort her special-needs child, is good at winking cute little ā€œyou betchas,ā€ is better looking than many of these politicians, likes to blow animals away from helicopters, and is sassy and fresh.

But I’m no ā€œJoe Six-Packā€ (I don’t even drink) and I don’t respond to that home-spun goofiness. I want a candidate (male or female) who isn’t an extremist. I’m a union worker as a public school teacher. I agree with the need for unions and we’d be a mess without them. I also know the pension system is a disaster and need to be revamped, changed, or scrapped for 401ks or something different. I’m pro-defense but not an adventurer who wants to invade any nation a la PNAC. I’m against the gay agenda, abortion, euthanasia, pro-religion and traditional morality but I won’t vote for folks like Sarah Palin JUST because they claim to be religious and pro-life. that’s not enough. We need intelligent, seasoned, experienced, tough, financially-savvy, traditionalist, no-nonsense folks but also someone who can sit down with unions respectfully and still champion the environment (though not off the deep end with cap and trade) and someone who cares about the elderly, social security, medicare, and yet will tame the out of control nutty medical system. We need to stop discriminating against folks with prior conditions in the healthcare insurance system but we don’t need a full-on government program.

And I have to tell you, as a public education teacher of 12 years, the system is broken and a half! But both sides have broken it. Democrats have broken it by dumping money into it without looking and letting it balloon and creating the silly dept. of education. Then the GOP has ruined it with No Child Left Behind. In fifth grade none of the teachers teach American history, the Constitution, the Revolution, Pilgrims, Puritans, none of it. Why? Because history isn’t tested on the State STAR tests for NCLB. Science is. So they teach heaps of science, language arts, and math. But history, writing, critical thinking, art, and music are jettisoned as time-wasters. Field trips take back seats and science projects, etc. are outsky. Kids are trained all year long for the test, test, test. That’s it. And the standards chosen for the test are often stupid IMO. Then we can’t discipline kids thanks to the parents running the show. There’s nothing stopping kids now from disrespect, not listening, and not caring. Each year many of my parents allow their kids to be absent 30 days per year, to come in late at least three days a week, most parents pick up their kids early all the time, etc. Practically none of the parents read with or work with their kids. It’s like daycare. They run the show. So when Republians talk about how the teachers screw up the kids, some do, but mostly it’s parents, the system broken, money going in the wrong places, poorly-paid teachers, etc. Crazy!

Most problems we have are Republican and Democrat-created. Social Security would’ve been great had not BOTH parties raided it so many times for pet projects…

I’m ranting, too much venting! Sorry. Thanks again for your kind words!
Gurney,

Good stuff. Very insightful and thorough survey of the American political scene with more balance than it usually gets on messageboards.

I described myself as a Sowell Libertarians but I have been finding myself drawn more to an older conservatism of the Russell Kirk variety and I agree with you, I long for a real Republican.

Sarah Palin scares the **** out of me.

So now who is the bad guy here then Kalt the Person who lied about thier income or the person who took the goverments money and bail outs and owe the govenment millions if not billions of dollars and then reward themselves with 100’s of thousands of bonus’s and still owe the goverment millions of dollars. And then which is our money that they loaned. (TAX DOLLARS).
Why do so many of you on this forum insist that every question is an either or question.

Than answer to your question is, Both.

I didn’t preach it. I used it as an example. šŸ™‚
As an example of what?

You’re not the first I’ve called on this kind of thing. A guy IRL said that he would be happy to pay thousands more in income taxes, if the money went to poor people. I asked him (too) what he was waiting for. Why wait for the gov’t to tell you what to do, when you know what’s right and what needs to be done? Take the thousands of dollars and go directly to the local food bank. If you pay thousands in taxes only a very small portion will go to the poor. If you take the money there yourself, the poor will get a much higher percentage (there are minimal operating costs to pay for).

So, I’ll challenge you again to do what you know is right and what needs to be done. Why wait for someone else to force you to do it? Why wait for a law? If you know what’s good (you gave the example, after all), do it!

And of course you don’t have to follow all of Shar’ia law. Just follow the part that you used as an example of good economic policy - taking no interest.
