I wasn’t assuming it. I was pointing out relevant passages about conscience, erroneous judgment, and the rejection of authoritative teaching.

Although, I suppose it would make sense that you would dissent from those teachings, too. 🤷

Amen. It is homophobia on the part of Christian groups, many of which speak against homophobia ironically.

Hey Catholics, when will you realize that homosexuality is normal and found in approximately 400 animal species, including humans? When will you realize that it cannot be cured, because it is not a disease, because it is normal? When will you realize that civil rights trump religion, since they affect all humans?

The BSA made the right decision based on what we know is scientifically and morally correct.

Not at all! I fully accept them. I only disagree wholly with the conclusions you draw from them.

Well, I guess it’s good that you don’t prefer your own judgment and reject authoritive teaching with regards to preferring your own judgment and rejecting authoritive teaching. Apparently, that particular teaching passes your own judgment.

It’s not about whether homosexuality is normal or not. The Catholic Church has stated that homosexual acts are immoral. She has stated that homosexuals are to be treated with dignity.

The whole issue about gays in the military, boy scouts, etc., boils down to two things as far as I can tell: “the near occasion of sin” and "the sin of scandal."

Boy Scouts Youth goes til age 18. I promise you, BSA Troops are not expecting all Youth members to be chaste. Teenage boys are thinking about sex.

Should they be taught to be chaste by their parents,… Yes. Does BSA teach anything about sex, not that I have ever seen.

There is no Youth sexual activities allowed on Scout functions, that would be heterosexual activities and homosexual activities.

Oh boy. You have fallen for this hook line and sinker.

It is not normal, it is deviant. It exists in around 2% of the pop. Logic alone tells us it is not normal. (no need for religion in this argument) It cannot fulfill the purpose intended for the reproductive organs. It cannot perpetuate society which is the prime purpose for the marital act.

It is disease laden, it shortens the lifespan, and there is so much more.

400 animal species? Any so called homo act in lower animals is opportunistic. In any case, humans know better and are called to self mastery.

I’m claiming to think about my faith. Catholics long before me questioned unjust dictates from the Holy See – and they were ultimately proven correct when she changed course.

I’m fairly sure they also heard from many who claimed they were evil and disloyal in the process.
