Your commentary is an ad-hominem attack bordering on slander.
Gilliam has a valid point. It is not a Catholic organization and one is better off going to one’s bishop rather than a fundamentalist group. Just like we should not stray from out doctrine to accommodate those that call black white and perversion normal, we shouldn’t stray into any area that might tempt us to go further than the Church has said.

If this is Catholic apologetics, then I must remind everyone that the ends don’t justify the means. Opposition to open homosexuality is in line with Catholic teaching and is NOT anti-homosexual. Every time onmyhonor.net is mention it is shot down unceremoniously and its spokesperson characterized with motivations in a classic case of rash judgement. Then Catholic pride castigates the Evangelical Protestant where ecumenism should find common ground. My comment stands without apology.

We do need to get to the truth of this matter and not unjustly condemn onmyhonor.net

The Catholic policy is to be tolerant of homosexuals. That means there’s a disagreement, a friction. The Church is willing to bury the hatchet and play nice. She bends over backwards to be nice, in fact. A large body of work exists on how the Church should deal with homosexuals and it’s all extremely gay-positive. Especially so given the writings of St. Paul, Apostle, who called it all an Abomination before God.

But that’s not good enough in the eyes of the secularists. They demand conformity to their view and cast aspertions upon any entity that does not fall in line.

They’re not Catholic. They’re on a mission to promote homosexuality and gay positivism. They are eager to undermine all traditional institutions, and have gleefully done so with regard to the Boy Scouts of America.

Catholics, stand up and say no. Take a stand. Don’t be boxed into a suicide corner.

Yes, because a priest with homosexual tendencies can be a good priest who is orthodox and chaste.

Just because someone likes people of the same-sex doesn’t mean that they are a robot who promotes the “gay agenda”.

Also, the Jay report said that homosexuality wasn’t the issue with the priestly abuse scandal, so can we stop pretending that it was for ideological reasons. The issue at hand here is the BSA policy for YOUTH.
The original study is available for you to see yourself. Around 70% were adult males on postpubescent boys. What do you call that?

Joe, I don’t mean to be rude, but you don’t go up to people and announce: “Hi, I’m a chronic masturbator.” The only living souls you should tell are your priest and God. The same with: “Hi. I have sex with 20 different women every month. What? Oh yeah, they’re all prostitutes. What’s the big deal?”

What if? What’s next? We already know —

“In 1998, Canadian Scouts (CS) decided to allow females, atheists, agnostics, homosexuals, bisexuals and transsexuals to join the CS. In 1999, they approved the establishment of an all-homosexual troop, which now marches in Canada’s “gay pride” parades. Within five years, scouting membership dropped over 50 percent. Many scouting camps and offices were closed, and staff was laid off.”

Peace,
Ed
Now coming to a town near you.

Yes, that’s the point. The medical community has more information at its disposal than the Bible. It’s interesting that out of the many avenues one could use to explore this issue, only one identifies homosexuality as a grand lie, a conspiracy, etc. Why doesn’t psychiatry still define homosexuality as disordered?
Because ( I have already provided the links) unbiased research was never done and political correctness rules the day.

Right…so, what is the intent of someone who makes it a point to declare to others that he is “gay?” Why is that important, if they are leading a chaste life? It is reductionist by its very nature.

The only people I know who identify themselves to others as “straight” are those who accept the same reductionism prevelant in your posts, or they are doing it because they have to in conversation with “gay” reductionists.
A chaster homosexual has no need to declare themselves to anyone. If they do it is usually to advance an agenda.

Clearly I believe the Church will come to the conclusion that belief in “perversion” [a gay person choosing to be a pervert] is contrary to the Gospel. The Roman Catholic church is increasingly being viewed as a ‘hate group’ until they accept that God does not make a person gay to be punished. This understanding is probably not that far off. Then where will the legalistic go? Orthodox?
Yeah the Catholic Church is a hate group. We hate evil and seek to end it wherever we find it.

Ever hear the phrase? Love the sinner and hate the sin?

I can’t confirm it myself but have heard the Boy Scouts of Canada is a hollow organization nowadays.

Forgive me if this has been posted previously. The last line of this quote is interesting, especially in light of the many slippery slope analogies that have been proposed here.

“‘I kind of expected that this is the way the vote would go,’ Bishop Guglielmone told the Register. ‘I’m not particularly encouraged by it, but I knew it would happen eventually. As the policy change is right now promoted, we can live with it. Unfortunately, there are many people who are interpreting this policy to go much further than it actually does, particularly in the secular press.’"

I don’t understand your “slippery slope” reference. Could you clarify?
