Boycott McDonalds

Today I received an email from the American Family Association…

Dear BlestOne,
McDonald’s has refused a request to remain neutral in the culture war, choosing to continue support of the homosexual agenda. AFA wrote McDonald’s asking the company do two things:
*

• Remove McDonald’s name and logo from the National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC) Web site listing McDonald’s as a “Corporate Partner and Organization Ally” of NGLCC.
• Remove the endorsement of NGLCC by Richard Ellis, Vice President of Communications for McDonald’s USA, from the NGLCC Web site.
  McDonald’s refused both requests. McDonald’s donated $20,000 to NGLCC in exchange for membership in the NGLCC and a seat on the group’s board of directors. The NGLCC lobbies Congress on a wide range of issues including the promotion of homosexual marriage.
  This boycott is not about hiring homosexuals, or homosexuals eating at McDonald’s, or how homosexual employees are treated. It is about McDonald’s, as a corporation,** choosing to put the full weight of their corporation behind promoting the homosexual agenda, including homosexual marriage.**
  Pat Harris, Global Chief Diversity Officer, Vice President, Inclusion & Diversity at McDonald’s, responded: "I would like to take this opportunity to reaffirm our position on diversity." Notice that Ms. Harris said “reaffirm.” Translated: McDonald’s will not change their policy of supporting the NGLCC and their promotion of homosexual marriage.
  Richard Ellis, who is openly homosexual, was given a seat on the NGLCC Board of Directors. He was quoted as saying: “I’m thrilled to join the National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce and ready to go to work. I share the NGLCC’s passion for business growth and development within the LGBT community, and I look forward to playing a role in moving these important initiatives forward.”
  Addressing McDonald’s promotion of social issues, McDonald’s CEO Jim Skinner said earlier the company will aggressively promote the issues they approve. In remarks on its Web site, Skinner said: “Being a socially responsible organization is a fundamental part of who we are. We have an obligation to use our size and resources to make a difference in the world … and we do.”

Here is a copy of the email I sent to McDonalds:

To whom it may concern:

I eat at McDonald’s everyday for lunch. I also take my family there for dinner at least twice a week. My family size is 6 people. So, we purchase approximately 17 or more meals per week in your stores. I also meet business contacts there, so I am also bringing in patrons to your restaurant.

I am willing to give this up if you continue to support the homosexual political agenda. I cannot in good conscience feed myself, my family or my friends in a place where my consumer dollars are going to something I feel is morally wrong and not in the best interests of my children.

In addition to my patronage that you would be losing, I have many community ties and I am willing to use whatever influence I can to convince them to support a boycott of all McDonald’s franchises.

Let’s face it, money talks… are you willing to lose patrons over a political stance you take to get name recognition at the Gay Olympics and the Gay agenda PAC’s? If you are fine, your decision is made… and I am sure that you will understand as a Christian and a mother, I can no longer support your company.

I really expect to disseminate a copy of this email to a minimum of 10,000 people worldwide via a group that will feel just as strongly about this issue as I do.

I would happily disseminate a retraction to this group in the event that you change your minds about supporting such groups. Just remember, most of these 10,000 have family and friends too.

Is this true? Do you really eat McDonalds every day for lunch? That you also take your kids there twice a week is also doing them a major disservice? Surely this is not true. Really amazed to read this.

We don’t eat at McDonalds, so really not a big deal to boycott them for us.
How stupid is it for a fast food chain to have a position on GLBT issues anyway? They have so many employees and customers who most likely have different views on so many issues, maybe they should just stick to burgers and leave moral issues alone.

Surprisingly enough, it’s usually the same people who will spend hours of their time on this rubbish who are quite happy to send young Americans off to fight a war based on lies, which has resulted in the death and injury to tens of thousands of innocents, not to mention several thousand American youth.

Where is your righteous indignation about that??? Where is the boycott of the companies involved? This is **real **destruction of families. Killing of children. Torture of people.

I haven’t been there since they changed the oil they cook their french fries in. I’m not big on boycotts however. Most of the McDonald’s are franchise operations which means they’re locally owned and the franchisees have absolutely no control over who Mc Donald’s gives money to.

Then you need to impress upon these clients and friends the great evil their parent company is engaging in.

One may as well make the argument that people who make their living selling porn are just people too and we should not boycott that business.

My friends and neighbors are not sending one penny to any homosexual rights organization. A multibillion dollar corporation that they have a franchise with is. To compare these hard-working individuals with someone who sells porn is specious but I suspect very easy to do when dealing in the abstract. Why don’t do go to your local McDonald’s and start telling their employees that they are no better than pornographers. ?

Of course they are indirectly sending money to support homosexual organizations. They do so when they pay their franchise fees, which is ongoing. That is how McDonald’s gets the money to give to these immoral organizations.

Why would McDonalds put their money into a gay lobbying group anyway? I don’t see many gay men eating in McDonalds, it’s far more of a budget families-with-kids kinda place.

I never eat at McDonalds, the last time was so many years ago I do not even remember. When my children were young I never took them there they used to complain to me all the time, everbody eats at McDonalds. Now they have families of their own their children do not eat McDonalds go figure! If I did eat there however I would boycott them. Your letter to them was great.

Majority is not 100%, so I still say it is stupid to have a moral position in an industry that supplies fast food. Just sell your junk food and mind your own business and be glad no one is pointing out that maybe it isn’t so moral to provide food that has been linked to obesity, especially in the poor communities.

If McDonalds is so worried about humanity, how about they come out as pro-life? That would show a true concern for EVERY PERSON.

My family is participating in the boycott, and I have written to let McDonald’s know why. This morning I received a form letter email informing me of McDonald’s desire to encourage “diversity.” If contributing to homosexuality is “diverse,” then why not support pedophilia, necrophilia, and bestiality?
