Jack-and-Jill bathrooms wouldn’t work in a lot of families but the toilet had a regular door that closed and I think the shower was set back too. The only oopsy might be pickin’ yer zits.

Don’t forget about the master bath.

I didn’t notice the placement of the shower and toilet. I just remember they were all in there at the same time and I’m thinking, “Eeesh!” Nope! Oh, well. You do what you have to do. My mom grew up in a family of 13 with one bathroom.

The exterior is very nice. Nice yard. I like it. The show was not actually filmed inside the house. Just the exterior was used. As I recall, the TV show had only one upstairs bathroom with two entries, shared by all six kids, so the bathroom could be accessed from both the boy’s room and the girl’s room. I didn’t like that at all. Too many opportunities for an “Ooops!” moment.
You learn quick to lock both doors.

I was just coming here to say, “I WUZ WRONG!”

Look!

Three doors! Three! That’s a NOPE from me.

Agreed. It all comes down to priorities. $1.5 million is about the starting range for detached houses here in Vancouver. With a 6 figure household income, that’s still not on our horizon… so we live in a housing co-op with a decent sized two bedroom apartment and a large shared yard / playground. Even if we do save for the next decade(s), I can’t justify spending that kind of money for four walls and a roof.

The interior is way different that way the show portrayed. It’s a nice house, but I could never afford to life in LA at that price.

The TV show bathroom had no toilet
You literally had to get a potty past the censors back then. Most homes on TVs until the 1970s didn’t have a toilet.

When the Brady Bunch debuted, it hadn’t been terribly long that they showed a married couple as having a double bed over two twin beds. You couldn’t say “pregnant” on television back then. The list goes on and on of otherwise normal daily things that couldn’t pass the censors.

I would be afraid that I would start to hear the music that they always played when the kids got in trouble and/or when a lesson was learned. You know, the slower, instrumental BB theme music.

I was not a big fan of The Brady Bunch family. So I would not be interested in
living there.

Negative on the maid. Way to easy for stuff to slip out of the house. Also, depending on who their contacts are, can be setting yourself up for a burglary. The look on the face at seeing the arms room might be amusing though 😉

I’m waiting for the Partridge Family home to come on the market.

Gotta love that shag carpeting

But I think the house was actually on the studio lot.

The interiors were but the house in question provided exterior shots at the title and credit sequences in the beginning and end of the show. The inside of the house is different from what was portrayed on the show.

I adore mid century through 70’s style of architecture and design. Need to buy a lottery ticket!!

The Partridge Family home can be found on the 40-acre backlot of the Warner Bros. Studio Ranch, located at 3701 West Oak Street, Burbank, California. This lot and its neighborhood of homes (known offically as “Blondie Street” after the early movie serial that followed the adventures of Blondie and Dagwood Bumstead) has been in use for about 50 years and can be seen in a variety of television shows and films – in fact, often at the same time! For example, during the run of “Bewitched”, Samantha and Darrin’s nosy neighbor Mrs. Kravitz also lived in the Partridge home. “The Partridge Family” debuted before Bewitched ended its run, so for two seasons, both the Partridges and the Kravitz shared a home!

My favorite is the Bewitched house. If I could get some plans, I’d love to build that one.
