Was the I Dream of Jeannie house on that street as well? Right next door to the Bewitched house…?

I would never be willing to live where people wanted to stop and gawk and take pictures, nor would I want to live anywhere nearby. I once read an article about what a hassle it is for the neighbors of these famous houses, let alone the homeowners themselves.

I never knew that and have lived in LA my whole life ! that is interesting , I’ve always thought it would be fun to go on those TMZ tour buses in Hollywood … now to get someone to actually want to go with me ! 😁

The actual interior is different than the show, but still pretty 1970’s.

The interior shots are on Zillow.

Also, the current landscaping is very nice.

A few years ago, I saw the outside of Archie’s house.

It looks much bigger on tv, it’s pretty tiny in person.

You mean, the real Archie Bunker house in Queens? It always looked small and crampt to me, an urban house in a neighborhood trying to have some of the amenities of the suburbs; kind of depressing. Very similar to the Costanzas’ house in Seinfeld, like soldiers all in a row.

I adored the plants in all the 70s TV show sets. I think my favorite one was the lady on “Sunshine” who actually worked in a plant store. If I manage to live to retirement, I would love to have a greenhouse or just a lot of plants in my house. Can’t do it right now because of too much work and too many cats who eat, whizz and dig up every plant I try to have.

When I think Seventies and plants, I think spider plants, and Three’s Company.

Yeah, I used to have a ton of spider plants. They’re super easy and make loads of baby plants which also grow very easily. All died off now

Yes. The house used in the external shots during the opening credits. It’s even smaller in person.

You literally had to get a potty past the censors back then. Most homes on TVs until the 1970s didn’t have a toilet.
Bob Hope quipped that as a child, he thought his parents slept in the same bed because they were poor . . .

🤣🤔

Didn’t you all dig that grey paneling in the boys’ bedroom? I have it it my basement. And the astro turf in the back yard was groovy!

I always like the parents bedroom because it looked like my parents bedroom in our first house.

I think we’re forgetting two things that would make someone reconsider buying the house One, who knows if the remnants of the ancient Hawaiian idol made their way back home. Two, for a time it housed Cousin Oliver, who everyone knows was a jinx 😉
