Brag alert: I JUST finished my thesis!

My husband and daughter are napping together, and I just had to share with someone. :o

My 130-page M.Sc. thesis is done! After two years of coursework and 8 months of researching and writing, it is all finished!

I completed it as a SAHM to my almost 20mo dd (with lots of help from her SAHD, of course 😉 )

It will allow me to teach at a university for only 5 hours a week, so my husband will be a SAHD, and I will almost be a SAHM. It will also enable me to ‘just’ write a doctoral thesis (and it will be on Shakespeare, and I’ve found an enthusiastic mentor 🙂 ) in order to obtain my Ph.D. and thus work even less for more money. 😃

Sorry to brag, but I’m just so happy, and there’s no one awake to tell. :o
 
i’m, just now reminded of the 11th commandment:

thou shalt not covet they neighbor’s achievement, even when it means she’ll spend her professional life loving literature…

I remember finishing mine (undergrad.) last year, and my brain taking about 3-4 weeks to stop throbbing 😃
 
I found it akin to swallowing a toad the first thing each morning - You know that nothing worse will ever happen to you. 😃
 
CONGRAULATIONS!!! I don’t think you are bragging either. As WG said, “it’s an accomplishment that you’re sharing”. Thanks for sharing with us.

As someone who’s just started grad school, I’m in awe of your achievement! Way to go! That is a big milestone.

Great job!!! It’s such an accomplishment to finish your thesis!! PM me if you want to tell me what it’s about - I’m in composition and rhetoric; DH is in post colonial lit.
