I learned the “muslim faith” by reading the Qur’an. I didn’t learn it as a little girl with a parent having me quote back answers. What I explained here is what I learned sitting in a class, with a teacher, talking about the explanation of this verse. And that’s how I have learned Islam–reading books, and having them explained by a teacher.

What I explained, I believe. And I don’t think it’s hatred at all, I really don’t, I think it’s pretty much the same as what Christians and Jews teach. 🤷
I think it’s sad that when you learned the Christian faith no one gave you the warning, which is unequivocal and in the New Testament, and which perhaps may have deterred you from your current apostasy.

You once wrote somewhere within CAF one of your reasons for converting to Islam was all the prayer ~ 5 times of prayer a day ~ but there has never been a rule that you couldn’t pray even a dozen times a day, or even all day long if you wanted to, as a Catholic. Some people do. Join a convent!

The scriptures *clearly say * that Islam cannot be from God:

Galatians 1:8
But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach (to you) a gospel other than the one that we preached to you, let that one be accursed!
This is clearly directed at Islam, as well as any other faith that claims to have been introduced the same way (think: Mormon!) Islam is not from God. I’m sorry if you can’t see that. I hope and pray you’ll come back home.

Did you notice how even people who weren’t little children, who were at least old enough to use a computer, took it literally? I left you a message…
They thought that I was serious when I said I was concerned my Muslims partner would attack me?

Sorry, however my Inbox is empty.

I left you a message within the thread. # 151. You’re young, you’re smart, you’re supposed to Pay ATTENTION.

My apologies.

It’s finals times and I have been sleeping about at most four hours a night thanks to my lovely periodic insomnia, point being if you don’t highlight, bold, underline, and colour subtle points I will not get them:cool:

So, I am going to sleep now, so early:eek:

have a lovely night:)

Darling, ignore us for a few days. School is more important and all these arguments will “keep”.

AND TAKE YOUR VITAMINS (the appropriate response is “yes Mom”.

Amy doesn’t want to tell us her conversion story, :(.

I don’t take vitamins, however I will be eating a good deal of fruit today:p

I appreciate the advise, and think I will take it:)

Pope John Pail II was an Islamic source?

Funny, I always had extraordionary admiration for him, read many of his books, still have a picture of him in my sundash and I never knew that about him.

I guess I thought he was a Catholic source:blush:
As Melanie Anne has stated you’re not paying attention! I stated that those vile actions of Muhammad are reported in the Quran and hadiths! That has nothing to do with JP2! He and the President and so on have to be diplomatic in their speech. We’ve already seen the way Muslims reacted to what Benedict XVI quoted from the Byzantine emperor and as for the Catechism, all that it states is that Muslims profess to believe in the God of Abraham. Make of that what you will!

So, you’re calling the pope a liar? Even if he were inclined to bend the truth (I don’t know him, and I suppose anything’s possible) why would he lie and praise Muhammad? He didn’t gain anything by it. Unless you’re calling Pope John Paul II a pathological liar, your explanation makes no sense.

When I read Al-Qur’an, I read it in context. In that regard, I don’t consider the contents offensive.

Muhammad was in a position to take revenge many times during the course of his life. He never seems to have done so. To Muhammad, spreading the message he received from God was always more important than satisfying petty grudges.

My religious leaders, and your religious leaders too, have acknowledged this. The historical record supports it. It seems like you’re relying upon hate sites on the internet, compiled by people with an axe to grind, to learn about Islam. That is your right, but it’s no way to get good information.
You have deliberately attacked me personally on several occasions. You have accused me of “spewing filth” and of posting “dirty” articles or something of the sort. If I had actually done what you state, I would have been banned from the site by the mods!

Your whole objection to me and your vile attacks are simply because I speak out against Islam! That is typical of those who defend it.

You have insulted the Catholic faith and called the Pope a Nazi on more than one occasion! Not once have you apologized for this.

Before you tell me what to believe, practice what you preach!

Hey Booklover,

Sorry, I’m not going to let you change the subject.

You have spewed filth toward Muhammad, and you continue to do so. When asked why Pope John Paul II paid his respects to the man, you simply want to personalize the subject rather than explain your apparent contradiction of your own religious leader.

Again: If Muhammad was such a horrible, vile person, why would Pope John Paul II praise him in a published work directed toward Catholics? Was the Pope lying, or was he mistaken? Do you know better history than Pope John Paul II did? Explain the discrepancy to me. I’m really very interested.

Just to be clear, I referred to a passage in the Bible where we were warned in advance not to listen to people like Joseph Smith and Mohammed:

Galatians 1:8
But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach (to you) a gospel other than the one that we preached to you, let that one be accursed!

You’re the one not making any sense. You twist everything I say and I have not seen the link that Ivan posted. I must have missed it.

You’re trying to use whatever the Pope stated about Muhammad to force me to accept Muhammad as a good man. I don’t and never will!

First, I know nothing of this book you speak of. Second, I have the right to my own opinion. Since what the Pope may have stated about Muhammad has nothing to do with Catholic dogma or teaching, I am not required to believe or accept it. It’s just his opinion.

I have no idea why he praised Muhammad and I don’t care. Muhammad’s vile actions are recorded both in the Quran and the hadiths! You’re just using the Pope in order to bully me into accepting Muhammad. I DON’T AND NEVER WILL!

Have you ever read Alex Haley’s Autobiography of Malcom X?

Here’s where the real miracle comes into play…forget about angels and revelations and all that other stuff. I don’t buy that either. The important part of Muhammad’s work is in the effect it has on people today. Malcom X’s story is a great example. It’s the real power of the message of God, delivered by Muhammad, to change a tangible human being from a low life scumbag, rotting in prison, into an honorable, upright person, who cares about right and wrong.

The transformation was not sudden. It took years. But it was a real transformation. We don’t have to believe in God to appreciate it. We can read about it in secular history books, and we can see the transformation in other men and women all around us today, who are going through the same developmental processes which transformed Malcom X. These are the real miracles of Muhammad’s message, which he delivered from the mountain, and no one can deny them.

What does Malcolm X have to do with the book by the Pope? Who’s changing the subject now?

I’m giving you one example suggesting that non-Muslims (be they folks like me, you, or Pope John Paul II) can respect Muhammad and the message he delivered, even if we don’t take all of it literally, because it continues to better the lives of people today.

Unless you have some scientific study to present it’s actually your oppinion
you need a scientific study to confirm that suicide bombings are more dangerous than holding signs which says “god hates fags”? dont be ridiculous. 😃
right, when did that happen?
the second they made her wear the hijab, silly! 😃 As if the exposed head of a 2 year old generally provokes sexual arousal. stupid extremists.

Why do you not give me the info on the book by the Pope? Could it be that it does not exist?
