Brattleboro VT. and nudity

Nude bike race – ouch!! Those seats areuncomfortable enough fully clothed.

As for Brattleboro, they’re probably just bored to death. Like a lot of VT it probably has no cable and only dial-up internet. The highlight of their year is The Strolling of the Heifers parade.
 
No, it’s not that they are bored. They have Cable and/or digital DISH and plenty of stores. Bill O’Reilly said that Vermont state has been taken over by the secular progressives. These are the people who believe “God is Dead”.

This nudity thing is serious in that the towns don’t have a problem with it. They think you are a “prude” is you do. So they let teens walk naked and such.

I posted web pages but they had pictures of the naked bike riders and naked teens on the street so it had to be taken off. This is their 3rd annual naked bike race.

If there is no opposition from the towns then what is the problem?

Clearly an example of local standards.

There are some places in the world where people are covered head-to-toe while in others where the dress code is considerably more relaxed.

That part of the world has always produced a worldview that was a trifle …different.
 
There is opposition in the town but when people complain they are ostracized. Vermont started the whole liberal looney thing in the northeast and others have followed. Teens walk around naked if they so please and the loonies “pretend if is just innocent”.

There are no standards. Pleaseeee Vermont is a rather cold climate, hardly that the weather is producing nudity.

Well I hope they don’t expect my sympathy when one falls off and skins their behind (literally), or gets a chunk of it bit off by a dog, or the men mash certain sensitive, and unusally vulnerable, parts of their body on the seat whenever they go over bumps.

I am looking for further details but I believe when this incident happened she was with a grandchild.

This week, apparently you can walk around nude but can’t do lewd things. I wonder how they can tell. It is against the law to go nude if you are a flasher.

Man arrested after dancing naked in Vermont town

BRATTLEBORO, Vermont – Walking around naked is one thing. But Brattleboro’s live-and-let-strip attitude toward public nudity has its limits.

A man spotted dancing nude on a downtown street has been charged with lewd and lascivious conduct, a felony punishable by up to five years in jail.

Adhi Palar, 20, of Brattleboro, was charged Wednesday after police saw him dancing and “performing acts of lewdness involving his genitals and some clothing,” said police Capt. Gene Wrinn. He would not elaborate.

“He was performing some lewd acts. He was getting some looks and we got some complaints.”

Police did not see the nude dance but saw a videotape someone else took of Palar, Wrinn said.

Last summer, young people caused a stir when they began congregating in the buff in downtown.

Brattleboro – which has a history of such behavior and no law against it – considered enacting an anti-nudity ordinance in the wake of all the activity, but the Select Board decided against it last September.

Some felt the onset of cold weather would be just as effective in discouraging people from shedding their clothes.

But with the weather now warming, the clothes are coming off.

Police will respond to complaints and if the person involved shows any sign of sexual gratification, they may be charged, according to Wrinn.

A bunch of bored white kids decide to shock a town and the town goes along so they don’t seem prude. The result is that anyone who doesn’t want to see skinny naked boys cannot go downtown, let their kids go downtown or take part in civic activities. In fact, they can just move if they don’t like it. This is crazy. The underpinnings of a society is the enforcement of shared mores and values. If some people want to stray from those values, they should remove themselves and not inflict their views on others.
