Hi! I used to try practicing hoodoo rituals and I even let a spell caster to put a spell on me some years ago. BUT I already confessed that and I’ve never done it again. I’m just worried, if I need a priest to do an excorcism to me or if I need to recite any Roman Catholic prayer to remove the spell from me.

Thank you.

No. “Spells” are sinful because they distract from God’s mercy. You confessed the sin, now trust in God’s Grace.

yes, strongly recommend the need of a pious priest to do an exorcism.

Ephesians 6:10-14 For our struggle is not against enemies of blood and flesh, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers of this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.

we fail to realize who the real enemy is.1 Peter 5:8 Discipline yourselves, keep alert. Like a roaring lion your adversary the devil prowls around, looking for someone to devour.

1 Corinthians 10:13 No testing has overtaken you that is not common to everyone. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tested beyond your strength, but with the testing he will also provide the way out so that you may be able to endure it.

1 Timothy 4:14 Do not neglect the gift that is in you, which was given to you through prophecy with the laying on of hands by the council of elders(priest).

2 Timothy 1:6 For this reason I remind you to rekindle the gift of God that is within you through the laying on of my hands;

Don’t you think that if that was necessary, teh Priest the OP confessed to would have suggested it?

OP, you confessed, you have not done it again, be at peace.

Someone mentioned the late Fr. Amorth. In one of his books, he said that a good confession is more powerful than exorcism, which is a sacramental instead of a sacrament as the former is. That said, exorcism does have its place. I’d agree with some others to go through your diocese to get a firm answer on whether or not you need anything. I’d also agree with the user I forget who said to trust in God.

I wouldn’t worry about it unless you believe the spell is real.

I find it odd that CAF strictly forbids people from giving legal and medical advice but says nothing about offering the most serious of spiritual advice: recommendation for an exorcism.

Anyone who tells anyone else online that they should get an exorcism is as bad as a doctor who diagnoses a patient without physically examining that patient. You are way beyond your competency here.

Anyway…

OP, as others have said you confessed this, were absolved, were given the grace of that Sacrament, now trust in God’s grace. If you are still concerned about possible spiritual warfare use the prayers offered above. If still in doubt sprinkle some holy water on yourself. If there are preternatural events occurring that are driving your worry, talk to a priest and only a priest.

I know you are trying to be helpful, but only a priest and his team can evaluate the need for an exorcism. There are several field test questions that even a layman could look for.
  1. Super human strength.
  2. Intolerance of religious, especially blessed objects.
  3. Speaking languages that have never been taught to the subject.
  4. Having access to hidden knowledge, that the subject could not possibly know.
The OP should consult with a priest of course, in case there is an infestation, or oppression. There are deliverance prayers that we can pray for ourselves anyone can find them on the internet.

The very best defense of course against evil is confession, Holy Communion, avoiding sin, prayer, and praying the rosary.

Nope, go to Confession, return to the Sacraments. God always wins.

Fr. Amorth. In one of his books, he said that a good confession is more powerful than exorcism, which is a sacramental instead of a sacrament as the former is.
So many overlook that wisdom!

I already confessed it, should I confess it again? I already did the three penance too.

Trust God’s mercy, stay in His friendship. If you are worried, speak to your pastor.

Thank you, yes I already confessed it to the priest. Also, I even threw in the trash all the oils used in that practice and the tarot card. Although, before, I didn’t really felt anything when the spell casted on me. So, I just want to know if I should do anything for myself even after I confessed it. I am not possessed, I can’t even see a ghost.

If you confessed it already, there is no need, unless you just want to talk about it with a priest. But confession should be done on a regular basis.
