Calling out unjustified attack on Melania. Keep your prejudice at home! You are not to spew hatred for a woman just because she’s beautiful, or because she belongs to a certain profession, or because she happens to be married to someone you don’t like, or because her husband is rich.

Stop this ludicrous hatred! Melania doesn’t deserve any of it. You are polluting the forum.
  1. Please don’t presume to know how I feel about Melania, in particular, imputing hatred.
  2. Unjustified? I have never brought up either of these first ladies. i responded to a post that I considered unfair in its dismissal of the vicious attacks on Michelle, while expressing such sensitivity to Melania.
  3. On the matter of truth, my post is fair: I refer to the worthless, disgusting things said of them. Michelle is not an ape, a gorilla, nor a man; Melania’s has a film history is what it is. There is no prejudice here; the comments follow plain facts.
  4. Melania’s film history is open. It would be wonderful to hear a story of compunction and metanoia about it. But that is just not Trump style.

As does every politician.
There is a time and place for everything. Bush had the grace to accept his time was up. He now spends his time riding bikes with wounded warriors. Much more productive than armchair criticizing.
Bush, who is promoting his book about his father (former President George H.W. Bush), “41: A Portrait of My Father,” also said he had no interest in generating headlines for himself after serving in the country’s highest office for eight years.
“Secondly, I really have had all the fame I want,” he added. “I really don’t long for publicity. And the truth the matter is in order for me to generate publicity … I’d have to either attack the Republican Party, which I don’t want to do, or attack the president, which I don’t want to do. And so I’m perfectly content to be out of the limelight.”

That is his choice. And I think it has a lot more to do with Bush doing what enjoys rather than him restraining himself from engaging in ongoing debate.

So now you are a mind reader?
Especially since by Bush’s own words from the link confirm he made a conscious choice to keep silent.
In an interview that aired Thursday night on Fox News’ “Hannity,” Bush insisted he would not attack President Barack Obama even though he continued to have strong opinions about national politics.
“Secondly, I really have had all the fame I want,” he added. “I really don’t long for publicity. And those words are generally consistent with what I guessed. He does not desire this. He said so.
So basically, you are saying that since GWB doesn’t have a desire to insert himself into his successors’ decisions,it isn’t a virtuous act?

I never said Bush was not virtuous. I just said this particular decision happened to be an easy one for him to make, since it let him do what he enjoyed doing.

I find it fascinating that there is much more talk about Obama shutting up than anything about what Obama said.

The interview in order
“I don’t think it’s good for the country to have a former president undermine a current president; I think it’s bad for the presidency for that matter,” Bush said,

You really are straining gnats.

Truly the definition of virtue, according to St. Thomas Aquinas.

Obama’s message especially on religious freedom falls flat for many because as many on this forum may have been aware is how his administration treated Catholic nuns in a case involving birth control.
How true! Obama’s religious freedom always favored Muslims for some weird reason

Ape in heels?
 That’s pretty racist. Too bad the left overuses the word. It’s lost its meaning now.
More hateful than boring, ISTM. Personal attacks on the first lady are just worthless. But the difference is that the disgusting things said about Michelle have no basis in fact, but the disgusting things said about Melania do.
Including those signs held by protesters calling for her to be raped? I don’t recall seeing anything like that about Michelle Obama at TEA PARTY rallies.

And this is how the left “cares” so much about immigrants.

Some of this stuff writes itself.

There is plenty of time to develop a presidential candidate. In the meantime, it is more important to Democrats to rebuild support for their party than to leave a vacuum hoping someone will fill it.

That free pass was already given out when they passed the first amendment.

Why not? He is a public citizen without any special legal standing. If the average citizen can speak out, so can he.
Fine, then none should see Trump’s tax return because after all that is just tradition!
