What a bunch of STUPID questions…literally nothing about the issues…“Why did you wear your running shoes…” It was like a Baba WaWa interview “If you were a tree…what kind of a tree would you be?”

:mad::mad:

Here is an excerpt

Out of these 20 questions, Davis wasn’t asked once to explain the difference between infanticide and late-term abortions.

***Precisely one question (credit to David Gregory) dealt with the substance of the bill. Gregory prodded Davis to explain why the 20-week ban isn’t “reasonable” and “acceptable,” but he didn’t follow up when Davis’s answer made no sense.

Davis replied that there is a constitutional right to “these reproductive decisions up to the point of viability.” But medical advancements have moved the point of “viability” up to 20 weeks after conception, the point at which the Texas bill would protect life. As Dr. Colleen Malloy of Northwestern’s Feinberg School of Medicine testified before Congress in 2012, “I’m here because it’s easy for me to imagine these babies at 20 to 24 weeks post-fertilization age because they are my patients in the NICU.”

So after all of these interviews, Davis hasn’t given a clear reason why she opposes a bill protecting the lives of babies old enough to be preemies cared for in the neonatal intensive care unit.***

Note the DOCTOR who said “these are my patients in the NICU.” they should use this as a banner for pro life ads. How does this woman justify her support for infanticide?

What is it with lifesite news that they consider Kristen Powers an “unlikely source”. If they did about 3 minutes of background checking they would know that she has publicly stated she is pro life and she was one of the few reporting on the Gosnell trial from the beginning and calling out the media for it’s failure to cover it. Unlikely indeed.

Egad! Hard to admit I’m applauding David Gregory!

I think they meant that as an avowed liberal Democrat she is an unlikely source, not that she as an individual has held a pro abort position. I really like Ms Powers who, even when she is defending Democrat positions, always seems to have a cogent argument rather than the usual "If you don’t agree with me you are a ______aphobe of some kind…fill in the blank.

Ms Powers shamed the MSM into at least a tepid expression of outrage at Gosnell’s practices while the MSM simultaneously still supporting “women’s health” and “choice” and claiming Gosnell was an aberration. Her editorial was quite clear that killing a 20 week old unborn baby was killing a baby, not a blob. She quoted from a parenting website that noted at 20 weeks the child’s fingers and toes are fully formed, he or she claps and grasps and explores the inside of the womb. I think the humanization of unborn babies is essential to stop these grisly practices and Ms Powers has extra punch since she is an “unlikely source” of a pro life editorial.

Not arguing with you, just proposing a different reason for their terminology.

I am just going to hope and pray that they get this bill passed into law this time. I think I am going to pray a Rosary for this intention. I hope everyone prays that this bill is passed into law. We need to protect the unborn children from being brutally murdered in the womb via abortion.

Disgusting… sorry this just proves how evil the pro-abortion ( ie - pro death ) camp is. 😦
My thought as well. I wonder how they think this appears to the sane world? It’s one thing to have a sincere interest in healthcare. But as even Kirsten Powers (liberal Democrat) noted, what they are screaming to protect is basically infanticide. I suppose there could be some reasonable debate about abortion inducing drugs or birth control that does not allow implantation of the fertilized egg (not for me as a Catholic but for the average person who doesn’t accept our consistent life ethic). It gets a LOT more dicey when the unborn baby has distinct human features, fully developed organs, fingers and toes, and can feel pain. Defending the hacking apart of this baby is positively macabre and only a committed idealogue could support this with a straight face. Truly a shame that so much energy and passion is focused on evil.

As to Wendy Davis, listening to a political channel that seems to be middle of the road or maybe slightly to the Left, it sounds as if this was more a stunt to get her name onto the national scene. She claims she may run for governor but I suspect she’s hoping for a cushy position in a Democrat administration. Trying to get elected statewide in TEXAS would be like a conservative Republican trying to become governor of New York. She has some ulterior motive. I guess it waits to be seen what is her actual motivation.

I just made the mistake of browsing the Facebook page for PP Texas. I’m blown away at how incredibly self-centered most of the posters (and PP itself) are.

It’s my uterus. If I want to remove my embryo, it’s my business. It’s my choice. No mention of the life that’s forming inside said uterus. No considerations for the father or his feelings on the matter (or the emotional effects he’ll suffer if she aborts and he wants to keep the child).

Then again, when one is convinced that life doesn’t begin until viability (“viability” being defined loosely as “whenever it suits me”) and that the tissue mass growing inside has no rights, I suppose it’s easy to conclude that abortion is OK.

Sorry, I’m rambling. I guess I just wan’t prepared for the level of blind anger. How do you heal a heart so consumed with rage? How do you show them the light, get them to see that they’re stamping out life for nothing more than convenience?

I agree… it seems to be for convience… or "i cannot afford to raise a baby’ excuse. There is always adoption… or gasp wait until you are married.

AUSTIN, Texas – Texas Republicans voted early Wednesday to move forward with new abortion restrictions, after limiting testimony at a public hearing, refusing to consider Democratic amendments and imposing strict security precautions to prevent disruptions from protesting abortion-rights supporters.
huffingtonpost.com/2013/07/03/texas-abortion-law_n_3538347.html

Beware, this is from the notorious and leftist Huffington Post. I took a look at the slideshow at the bottom which featured tweets about the filibuster that took place. Every single one of the tweets featured were from pro-abortion tweeters. I wasn’t really surprised considering that this article is from the Huffington Post.

God be praised! I’ll take your word for it without using the link!

I always feel like I need a shower after reading any comments on HuffPo (esp regarding anything Catholic).
