Why or why not?
Because he is the Vicar of Christ on earth for crying out loudWhy or why not?
No because its best to remain humble. Why or why not?
ahh it is a monarchy…the Pope is the monarch of Vatican State, the pope is the Servant of the Servants of God…still gets it in the eye regardlessNo because its best to remain humble.
The Papacy has suffered enough pompitude.
Its not a monarchy.
Besides the tiera doesn’t command respect. The Pope should be respected for who he is and not what he wears. His spirtuality, virtue, and position are more than enough reasons.
Though its a symbol of respect, these days it would actually have an adverse effect. The Pope knows this and this is why its been put away. Papa knows best.
"The last Pope to be crowned was Paul VI in 1963, but after the solemn coronation ceremony he never used the tiara again and left his Successors free to decide in this regard. Pope John Paul I, whose memory is so vivid in our hearts, did not wish to have the tiara; nor does his Successor wish it today. This is not the time to return to a ceremony and an object considered, wrongly, to be a symbol of the temporal power of the Popes. Our time calls us, urges us, obliges us to gaze on the Lord and immerse ourselves in humble and devout meditation on the mystery of the supreme power of Christ himself."
A monarch doesn’t serve anyone.ahh it is a monarchy…the Pope is the monarch of Vatican State, the pope is the Servant of the Servants of God…still gets it in the eye regardless
The Church is the body of Christ. Its neither a monarchy or a democracy in the strictest sense of the words though it has elements of both. The Pope is much more than a monarch and the Magisterium is much more than a democracy. Monarchy’s and democracy’s only attempt to imitate the Church in forms of secular government, not the other way around. Then they seperate God from the process which the Chruch does not which makes it unique. The Church IS a monarchy, NOT a democracy,
and the pope of Rome IS the VICAR of Christ.
The Tiara isn’t something that should be worn
every day, for pete sake, but it should be used
on special and solemn occasions.

Yea, doesn’t serve any non-divine being. Monarchs in the past (some) have been known to be religious. So infact they do “serve” someone, and that someone happens to be up there.A monarch doesn’t serve anyone.
Well since you put it that way.Yea, doesn’t serve any non-divine being. Monarchs in the past (some) have been known to be religious. So infact they do “serve” someone, and that someone happens to be up there.
This is the way I feel, too.No because its best to remain humble.

LOL!!! Yesssss. Exactly. It is embarrassing.… when I see the Pope next to Eastern Bishops, it’s embarrasing. He is God’s represenative on Earth, not them. They have these fantastic embroidered vestments while the Pope is standing there in basically a tablecloth with a hole in the top.
