Evidently, Garlaschelli was unaware that in 1978 it was discovered unequivocally that the blood on the Shroud had been shed before the image was created.

It is very easy, once you have an image of a body on a cloth, to add the blood in the right places, but it is very difficult – if you shed the blood before - to make an image of that type match. So the professor who had the pretense to claim to have created an image with the same characteristics as the Shroud has made an incorrect claim because there are features in the Shroud that his reproduction does not have.

Oh well. I guess the scientists who are intent on proving the Shroud a fake will have to go back to the drawing board.

According to Barry Schwortz, a Jew & the official photographer on the team that examined the shroud for 120 hours in 1978, everything that has been tried to date to duplicate the shroud image has failed to reproduce every attribute of the shroud. Usually when someone has purported to have done so, they mean just getting an image on a cloth. The team that examined it proved it was not created with heat, iron oxide, silver, etc. For anyone interested in reading the peer-reviewed scientific papers written, many are located on shroud.com (created and maintained by Barry) under the library.
