A very courageous woman, in my opinion.
Expectant mother Lorraine Allard learned the devastating news that she was in the advanced stages of liver cancer when she was four months pregnant, according to the Daily Mail.
Allard, of St. Olaves in the U.K., had a choice: Delay treatment to save her baby, or terminate the pregnancy to save herself.
“If I am going to die, my baby is going to live,” Allard told her husband, Martyn, according to the Mail.

This woman is a superlative example of Christian love to the entire human race!

Thank you, rpp, for alerting us to this beautiful, life-affirming story. God bless her with His Presence and bring His comfort to her family.

We all need to pray for the family that lost it’s wife and mother. In addition to this baby, 3 others are now motherless. Their father will certainly need all the help he can get.

The wisdom of God is foolishness to man.

But they haven’t lost her at all in the most important sense :nope:

I’m sure she’s up there in heaven praying for them, doing just as much as, even more than, she could do for them on Earth. :crossrc: :getholy:

Yes we do . And pray for the repose of the soul of this generous woman who followed Christs example fully.
No one has greater love than this, to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.
You are my friends if you do what I command you.

:angel1: God Bless her soul. What a fine example she is to her children - and to us!

The daughter of a friend of our family made this same decision a few years back.

Let’s continue to pray for the souls of all who have given their lives for another.

In Christ,
Rand

…saw this story on FOX News yesterday…and yes this woman is not only a modern saint…but a mother of the first order. For generations women would rather die and let their babies live…may this beautful woman be light “for future generations” :gopray2:

In the article, it quote someone saying that “she lost the will to fight.” I totally disagree - she fought FOR life!

May her soul be granted eternal rest in God our Father.:signofcross:

Oh no–she said that if she had allowed them to kill her baby, she would have lost the will to fight. It is my understanding that that “will” is one of the most important part of cancer treatment. She was saying she would have died anyway.

May she rest in peace and may God guide and protect her husband and four children during this difficult time.
