What should I do with a broken scapular? The string broke, should I burn it or what?
I’ve been wearing the same one for the past three years. I never take it off. When it breaks I’ll get another one.I was going to say, tie a knot in it.
I was enrolled into the Brown Scapular when young. I recently bought a new one and can’t get myself to wear it because I know I’d soil it and wear it out in no time at all (gym, physical training and heavy duty nursing). How do you all get around that?, do you buy several scapulars (like I’ve got six white shirts in the cupboard so I’ll always have a clean one for work)?

I don’t but thats just meI don’t want to sound too scrupulous, but is it ok to take off in the shower?

Second that.I was going to say, tie a knot in it.
Personally, I do buy a handful at a time, but I only use one at a time, until unsuitable. Then I collect them until I have a pile sufficient for burning.I was enrolled into the Brown Scapular when young. I mend ours all the time. The children have scapulars with small medals on them that wear the string (cord) out faster. Since the cords started out too long really, I simply sew them back on with a bit of brown thread. This is not forbidden, but not required either. What should I do with a broken scapular?
