WASHINGTON (Feb. 8) - Former disaster agency chief Michael Brown is indicating he is ready to reveal his correspondence with President Bush and other officials during Hurricane Katrina unless the White House forbids it and offers legal support.

Hmmm, wonder if Bush is going to bail him out with Executive Priviledge. Otherwise, if Brown refuses to answer, he will be charged with Contempt of Congress.

I saw firsthand the incompetence of FEMA. Mismanagement, lack of organization, ect. Even the state agencies were horrible. Now i wonder who was responsible for educating, training, and supplementing the state agencies? Oh, Dept of Homeland Security and FEMA. Brown knows he is in for it.

One thing though, the Florida Dept of Law Enforcement is coming out of this like a Superhero. 4 Mississippi counties turned over rescue and management efforts to FDLE, and it was run like youve never seen. Going from La. to Mississippi was night and day. This brilliantly illustrates the chaos that can result from “This is how we do it, and your way is always wrong”. FDLE and Florida Emergency Mgt. do it THEIR way, and the results are clear.

This all goes to show that the more layers of government you have to go through to get things done, the worse the final product.
