I was enrolled by a priest to wear the brown scapular several years ago. At the time, praying a daily rosary wasn’t too difficult for me. However, my children have grown older and the demands of my vocation have changed and I fell out of the habit of praying a daily rosary. I stopped wearing the brown scapular, because I felt unworthy of it.

Today, I asked a friend about it when I noticed her wearing her scapular. She said a daily rosary wasn’t necessary to wear the scapular. I really thought it was. Can anyone clarify?

Also, since I haven’t worn it in a long time, would I have to be re-enrolled?

I often see people wearing their scapular and I have a longing to wear it.
Thanks!

You can wear the brown scapular without having to say the Rosary everyday.

Your devotion is what’s in your heart, not in the specific acts.

Carmelites wear the Brown Scapular and don’t necessarily pray the Rosary daily.

You can buy a brown scapular and have it blessed by a priest and wear it.

I recommend finding one of a good material.

Whether you need to be enrolled again you need to ask a priest about it.

I wear mine but I am not yet enrolled.

Hi, you may wear the Brown Scapular as a sign of devotion without having to re-enroll.
Just have it blessed.

To obtain the Sabbatine privilege,(being delivered from purgatory the Saturday
after your death), you must pray either five decades of the Rosary or recite The Little Office of the Blessed Virgin Mary daily. One must also live a life of chastity according to their state in life. Obviously, it would be important to live a good, holy Christian life, also.

There are many indulgences attached to this devotion. It is said that Our Lady is never outdone in generosity.
