Bruce Jenner's Début as "Caitlyn"

Stop and think for a moment. Kim Kardashian did a famous photo shoot last year where she bared her behind and everything else, but especially emphasized her behind – and boy, was it big. (Vanity Fair?..I forget for which magazine). Why would a person do this, when their whole family will view it, let alone the rest of the world? Her step-father, her sisters, step-brothers, etc. What respect does this clan have for each other? None, in my opinion. They don’t have any concept of modesty. They’re almost non-human, in a way.

Well, I for one think she looks beautiful. Bruce Jenner always seemed like a kind soul; I can’t think of any reason why Caitlyn would be any different.

I’m not responding to any negative replies to this. Yes, I support her. Yes, I know you still say “he’s a he’s still”. I still support her. I have a niece currently transitioning from female to male, so I’ve seen first hand how hard this is on trans people. Glad to see Jenner has such a supportive family and many, many supportive fans (Many of whom still remembers that Wheaties commercial! :p)
 
This type of mental illness needs medical treatment and i don’t mean implants and removal of male parts.

He will always be a man no matter how much makeup or women’s clothing he wears. Your neice will never be a man. Pretending won’t bring them happiness. They need intense therapy.

No one has sex reassignment surgery for a magazine cover and a reality show. There’s something far deeper happening here. Given the association with the Kardashians, it isn’t surprising that a cover and show would be a byproduct, though.

I’m not sure a Vanity Fair cover shoot accomplishes that. But I do think it fosters the notion that sexual mental disorders should be glorified.

Depends on what you mean by “works”. Antidepressants usually do what they are supposed to do, but they have complications. There is no cure for GID.

A very kind post.

While I cannot understand what it feels to be transgendered, I support her and am glad she is able to live life in what she feels is her true form. I wish her a happy and peaceful life as Caitlyn.

He does seem like a kind soul and I have no doubt that this is difficult. What I’m struggling with is whether or not supporting a decision such as this is really in the person’s best interest and will it lead to happiness, well being and both emotional and spiritual health. When I look at the pictures I’m really conflicted.

Maybe it was the Wheaties? Lol
 
Everyone has a cross to carry, or multiple crosses. Some people are born wishing they were the opposite gender (id like to insert that “gender” is a socially made concept different than sex which God made. If gender and gender roles didn’t exist I think we’d have a lot more happy people, my 2 cents) that is their cross.

What I have a problem with concerning Caitlyn specifically is the lack of parenting. Her youngest daughter (17) is a hs drop out, dating a 25-year-old rapper and already had several plastic surgeries. As a parent you have to ALWAYS put your wants/needs/dreams second to the betterment of your children. Once again that is my opinion.

  1. She is homeschooled, not a drop out.
  2. She had temporary lip fillers, not several plastic surgeries.
  3. Can’t comment on her dating life.
