Hi

I think one would like to read interesting similarities mentioned between accounts of lives of Buddha and Jesus . One is given as under by Warren :

“Both are said to have been born of a virgin, and through the holy spirit. (Thomas Maurice, History of Hindostan (London 1798), vol. 2, p. 310; Matthew 1:18.)”

I love Buddha and Jesus

Thanks

Please quote the teaching of Buddhism saying so.

This is a common misconception by non Buddhists. There is no such story in the Canon regarding the birth of Siddhattha Gotama. There are many lovely stories and myths about his early years, but these are not canonical. This virgin myth is not among even these stories. His parents had a traditional marriage and although she was most likely a virgin when she married, she conceived in the normal way. Gotama’s mother died a few days after he was born.

JFK & C.S. Lewis both died on 22 November 1963.

This surely proves that JFK was a first-rate Christian thinker, & very fine story-teller, even if he was an Anglican 🙂

Jesus & Buddha both had mothers, both of whom were female: I’m not sure this proves much…

Hi

One Christian friend has written a post/comment on my blog on the above topic. I give it here for the benefit of my friends here.
wellwateredgarden Says:
I am a peaceful Christian and I appreciate your serious honesty.
I have a question for you … why would Jesus be mentioned alongside and equal with Buddha? I have never heard of Buddha being mentioned in either the Jewish Bible or the Christian Bible?
And where then does Mohamed fit in?
Paarsurrey replies:

Hi

We Ahmadi peaceful Muslim believe that Buddha was also a Messenger of GodAllahYHWH like , Moses, Krishna,Zoroaster, Socrates and Jesus. If it is mentioned that he was born of a Virgin, I don’t have any objection to it.

We Muslims don’t believe of any original sin. Anyone born of a woman is without sin or is innocent; it is the actions when one gains maturity that make one bad or good.

We Ahmadi peaceful Muslims believe that every revealed Religion was truthful in origin and their religious heroes who received Revelation from God were truthful Messengers of GodAllahYHWH.

God cared for every people.

Jewish Bible or Christian Bible do not mention of many Messengers of other nations as these were limited for the guidance of the Jewish people only.

I love Jesus and Mary

Thanks

And the quran can only be really understood in arabic right? So the quran is specifically for arabic speaking people then.

Mat 28
18 Jesus came up and spoke to them. He said, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.
19 Go, therefore, make disciples of all nations; baptise them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
20 and teach them to observe all the commands I gave you. And look, I am with you always; yes, to the end of time.’

The only problem dolphinlove is paarsurrey doesn’t believe the Books of the NT, as they were written by other men, NOT Jesus, and paarsurrey says these men MISUNDERSTOOD Jesus, and what they wrote down is all wrong. paarsurrey only believes in what Jesus wrote down Himself

So any quoting we do like that, he shrugs off as being misunderstood, or part of the “foolishness” of Paul

exactly like when he quotes the quran, i shrug it off.
But, in this instance, paars quoted this:
Jewish Bible or Christian Bible do not mention of many Messengers of other nations as these were limited for the guidance of the Jewish people only.
That is why i quoted the bible, to show him the error of his accusation. 😉

Hi

But then I give rational reasons and logical argument to support my point of view. Paul gives an ethical philosophy without substance which is not supported by Jesus himself, in my opinion.

I love Jesus

Thanks

Please tell us then what you believe about Jesus, and why do you love Him.

It is supported by Jesus. Paul was inspired by God, hence his conversion.
I would like to know why you blame Paul, when others went out and spread the news of Jesus at the same time in other nations?

Hi

Jesus never mentioned about Paul. Jesus never supported Paul, in my opinion.Jesus had gone to India when Paul started roaming about and stating things which Jesus had never even thought of.

I only defend Jesus as I love him.

Thanks

So what if Jesus never mention Paul, does he mention me as i also like to spread the word?
Paul was inspired by Jesus, he had a conversion, and felt he needed to spread the word about Jesus, like Catholics do.
Why would Paul make up his own version of events?
Why was Christianity spreading to all nations the same time Paul was spreading it? Was he in all places at once spreading the same stories?
Your logic on this is flawed.
Paul was spreading the truth about Jesus, not this made up version you seem to think he is.

One. Please show the teaching of Paul incompatible to the teaching of Jesus.

Two, Please quote the Quran saying that Jesus went to India.

paarsurrey,

Jesus talked to Paul on the road to Damascus, calling him by his Jewish name Saul. Saul was going to Damascus to persecute Christians, but Jesus converted him along the way:

Acts 9:1-6

[1] But Saul, still breathing threats and murder against the disciples of the Lord, went to the high priest
[2] and asked him for letters to the synagogues at Damascus, so that if he found any belonging to the Way, men or women, he might bring them bound to Jerusalem.
[3] Now as he journeyed he approached Damascus, and suddenly a light from heaven flashed about him.
[4] And he fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to him, “Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?”
[5] And he said, “Who are you, Lord?” And he said, “I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting;
[6] but rise and enter the city, and you will be told what you are to do.”

Jesus commissioned Paul to spread the Good News. Jesus told Ananias that Paul is His chosen instrument to carry out His name to the Israelites and Gentiles:

Acts 9:15-16

[15] But the Lord said to him, “Go, for he is a chosen instrument of mine to carry my name before the Gentiles and kings and the sons of Israel;
[16] for I will show him how much he must suffer for the sake of my name.”

I only defend Jesus as I love him.
I love Jesus, and I will defend Him and defend His Apostles, including St. Paul, against the attacks, false teachings, and odd imaginations of Ahmadi Muslims.

God bless,

Rony

Hi

You may kindly and happily defend what you think is the truth, as I do. You are welcome.

Paul did not and could not see a vision of Jesus, as Jesus was very much alive and had gone to India to complete his mission as assigned by GodAllahYHWH to him. Jesus was one of the most obedient servant of GodAllahYHWH as mentioned in Quran, in my opinion.

It might have been Paul’s imagination, therefore, that he had seen Jesus in a vision, Paul did not see it, in my opinion.

I love Jesus

Thanks

India — >:banghead: and again ----> :banghead:

Well, since I didn’t know anything about Ahmadi muslims, I did some surfing on the net and this is what I learned about what you believe/taught.

The “ahmadi” movement was created in the late 1880’s.
Jesus was born to the Virgin Mary.
He survived the crucifixion and did not die an accursed death.
Instead he travelled east to India in search of the Lost Tribes of Israel.
Jesus lived a full life and died on earth, specifically Jesus’s tomb lies in Kashmir under the name Yuz Asaf.

**Mainstream Islam believes… -read below - **
Born of a miraculous birth from the virgin, Mary.
Did not die on the cross but was transported to heaven, where he lives to return in the flesh to this world shortly before Doomsday.
Since Jesus (considered a prophet) came before Muhammad, his return to Earth would not disqualify Muhammad as the “last” prophet.
Jesus will come to earth not as a prophet but as a follower of Muhammad and preach the teachings of Muhammad.
First, islam changes our Biblical facts regarding Jesus and now ahmadi movement/muslims created in 1889 change it far out somwhere in the “left field”.

The more I learn the more interesting things get for me. 🙂

Hi

You seem to be allergic with “India” and bang your head.

India is a good country.

You may sometimes like to go to Kashmir and see the Tomb where Jesus is buried for yoursel and pray for him.

The Archaeologicl department of India, I think, will help you and you will make a tour to Kashmir, the choice of Jesus for his resting place.

You are welcome.

Thanks

There are over twenty gods, entities, and other divine beings (mythological or not) who were born of virgins, many of them older than Jesus Christ. It’s quite the recurring theme in religion, in general.

Isn’t religion awesome?
