Boston is a newspaper wasteland.

We have a broadsheet that’s a total left-wing rag and talks down to it’s audience; and a tabloid that uses small words and lots of pictures to appeal to a more “modest” readership.

I can read at a higher level than a 4th-grader, and I don’t care for the Globe’s politics. Hard to get quality reporting around here…

I totally disagree with your take on NPR.

Margery Eagan has been on the radio for years with Jim Braude - that is what I was referring to. She goes way back. I can remember in interview with Peter Blute that I can’t repeat here.

I was trying to figure out how long if it was possibly 20 or 15 years. - found it.

If you read what I posted, you’ll see that I stated that Eagan and Braude only joined
Public Radio, 89.7 FM, last year.

Before, as I also said, they were both on 96.9 talk radio, which is a “private” radio station in Boston, not Public Radio.

I live in MA and listened to 96.9 FM on my commute to work and home, until they changed over to music.

It ALWAYS does…

For a state in which 44% of it’s residents identify themselves as “Catholic,” narry a week goes by without an “anti-Catholic” article in one of the Greater Boston newspapers.

Sad, actually.

At least the story ran with a great picture of St. Peter’s Square. I (ahem) borrowed it, convinced that I will be a far better steward of the picture than the Boston Globe

Agreed. the Globe has always been very anti-Catholic.

I read the Worcester Telegram, which although owned by the New York Times, does a pretty good job.

That’s nice to hear. I live further north on the 495-belt, and the Lawrence Eagle-Tribune almost seems PRO-Catholic. You NEVER see an article/editorial like the one I cited in post 19, and their coverage of the “Feast of the Three Saints” in Lawrence Mass was front-page news.

Unfortunately, the “'Trib” is a regional newspaper at best and doesn’t even have a fraction of the readership the Globe does.

My daughter’s SO grew up in Lawrence. They were at the Feast of The Three Saints last week-end.

I would pass them on the radio as I looked for other channels.You’re right. They were on a private radio station.

So they have both switched to NPR? One thing you always see, is that the left always takes care of its own.
