My daughter has been getting bullied by her ‘friend’ and her big sister. The problem is that the girls who are bullying are also neighbours and friends outside school. The girls have been bullying my daughter at school and the playground supervisors have been dealing with it but lately it has started outside school. The biggest problem now is that their mum is joining in with the bullying when she is giving the girls a lift to Brownies or walking them down to the school bus. My wee girl is crying on the way to school and in the playground at school. I spoke to the mother this evening to say that I would be taking my girl to school for a few days because she has been feeling really upset. She demanded to know why and then yelled at me on the phone when I explained to her how my daughter perceived the way she was being treated. I did not accuse, I only explained that I felt the girls needed a little break from each other until they were getting on a bit better but she yelled at me that my daughter was to blame and that she should not be playing with other children at school because her daughter was ‘her best friend’ and best friends stick together. I explained that I was teaching my girl that she was to include everyone and not leave anyone out. She thought this was wrong and she was really critical of what I am teaching my wee one. Anyway, she has fallen out with me and she screamed and yelled at me on the phone. I’m not sure how to proceed cos she is a neighbour and was meant to be a friend. So my daughter and I could do with some prayer.
