My daughter has been getting bullied by her ‘friend’ and her big sister. The problem is that the girls who are bullying are also neighbours and friends outside school. The girls have been bullying my daughter at school and the playground supervisors have been dealing with it but lately it has started outside school. The biggest problem now is that their mum is joining in with the bullying when she is giving the girls a lift to Brownies or walking them down to the school bus. My wee girl is crying on the way to school and in the playground at school. I spoke to the mother this evening to say that I would be taking my girl to school for a few days because she has been feeling really upset. She demanded to know why and then yelled at me on the phone when I explained to her how my daughter perceived the way she was being treated. I did not accuse, I only explained that I felt the girls needed a little break from each other until they were getting on a bit better but she yelled at me that my daughter was to blame and that she should not be playing with other children at school because her daughter was ‘her best friend’ and best friends stick together. I explained that I was teaching my girl that she was to include everyone and not leave anyone out. She thought this was wrong and she was really critical of what I am teaching my wee one. Anyway, she has fallen out with me and she screamed and yelled at me on the phone. I’m not sure how to proceed cos she is a neighbour and was meant to be a friend. So my daughter and I could do with some prayer.

It sounds like your neighbor is an unhappy woman. You are doing the right thing for your child. Focus on that and leave the rest alone, that would be my suggestion. And we will pray for you and your daughter.

Linnyo, I am so sorry for what your little girl is going through. I will be happy to pray for your little one…it sounds like the friends mother is emotionally abusive…has a problem herself if you ask me! God bless.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Perhaps a thread into Spirituality Forum may draw more replies and advice. You must put your daughter first and act in her best interests. Will be keeping you and your daughter and the situation in daily prayer. May The Holy Spirit guide and inspire you…

Thankyou everybody for your prayers. I cannot sleep so here I am. I guess I am worried about school tomorrow although I know that the school are very good at pastoral care. I am sure I am doing the right thing but I do hope that the girls can put aside their differences sooner rather than later. I think I am going to call the school and ask them to keep an eye on my daughter at playtimes just to put my mind at rest. Hopefully the mum can calm down and keep out of it. The kids have a better chance of making friends if the parents keep out of it. I’m not one to hold a grudge so I’m gonna keep praying that things will change in the playground and, in the meantime, I will keep my daughter away from the mother. I’m not sure what I’m going to do about the after school clubs yet but, I suppose I’ll cross that bridge when I come to it.

Lord, you bring us trials to strengthen us, that we may grow in love and faith in you. May you grant Linnyo’s daughter all the courage, and strength she needs to overcome this trial. Have mercy on her Lord. Stay close to her Lord, that she may feel your love and kindness, and may it be her guide throughout her life. Comfort Linnyo and her child Lord, grant them peace and forgiveness in their hearts as they turn to you with profound faith in your most Divine Will.
Touch also the hearts of those that have a hand in this child’s suffering, Lord. Grant them mercy Lord, that it may fill their hearts and pour out on this beloved child, and all that they meet.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou amongst women,
And blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners,
Now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

I have been in your shoes before. I will keep your daughter in daily prayer and the mother of the other girls!

Praying very hard for all involved. You are doing the right thing putting your daughter first.

This happened to my son and i did the exact same thing started taking him to school myself and had a meeting with the school principle, My sons bully was a neighbour too it was awkward but i stuck to my resolve and carried on taking my son to school the principle was loathe to take sides at first but eventually we had a meeting between both families and got some resolve they were never friends again but it was an uneasy truce so good luck i will pray for all of you :gopray2:

I have spoken to the school who are monitoring the situation in the playground and I have a longer appointment tomorrow with the depute head. Hopefully it will go well and the situation will be resolved over time.

Linnyo:

I’m sorry you and your daughter are going through a tough time. I’m praying for you, your daughther, your neighbor, and your neighbors kids.

Prayerfully,

Renato

Praying for your child. I pray that the bullies would have a change of attitude as well as the mom of one of the bullies.
