I have a license plate on the front of my car “Life is Fragile, Handle with Prayer”. I have gotten positive remarks on it from strangers in parking lots. On the back of my car a license plate holder " Don’t Drive Faster than Your Guardian Angel can Fly"

No, I do not have bumper stickers.

Nothing makes me tune-out someone’s opinion like a bumper sticker. Whenever someone with a bumper sticker makes a driving error, cuts me off, does something stupid - it’s hard not to associate their stupidity with the “cause” advertised on their bumper. If I agree with their bumper sticker, it makes me embaressed for them and myself when I see them driving stupidly. I know in my head that there’s no connection between the person and the correctness of their bumper-sticker, but every time a giant, unnecessarily large pick-up truck (in perfect condition, since such people rarely actually USE their trucks) barrels into my lane with an “Elect Bush/or/Kerry” bumper-sticker, I can’t help thinking, “typical Bush/or/Kerry supporter …”

So all you with stickers - be aware that once you slap a religious/political sticker on your car, folks are judging your religion/politics by your driving - like it or not.

Anyone who’s opinion would be swayed by a bumper sticker on the back of a car driven by a total stranger needs help.

While I suppose in theroy someone might read a snappy comment and decide to look into the issue further I doubt anyone who is old enough to sit in the front seat of a car has avoided hearing about this issues addressed by most bumper stickers.

Actually, someone from the Right to Life organization who had a table at our church’s narthex last year giving away pro-life bumper stickers told us that a woman came up to her recently just to thank her for handing out those pro-life bumper stickers.

Turns out that woman was driving behind a car that had the bumper sticker that says Abortion stops a beating heart as she herself was on the way to the “Women’s Health Clinic” to have an abortion.

She turned right around in a U-turn headed back home.

Her son whom she spared from dying by abortion is now 12 years old.

So… ya never know who might be needing to hear/see that message at that very moment that they’re reading your bumper sticker.

I dont use them.

I cant afford to anger whackos who would disagree with the sticker and maybe have my window(s) put out, tires flattened, paint job scratched etc…while I’m in bed or at the store. I like confrontation face to face…not sniper attacks when I discuss religion & politics…I’ll also VOTE to get my point out.

I’ve actually come back to my car to find that someone has tried to scrape and pull my pro-life bumper stickers off. And they even slapped a “right to choose” sticker over the top of my bumper sticker with the quote from Blessed Teresa of Calcutta about it being a poverty that a child must die so that you may live as you wish.

Gee… now that’s the way to make your point, huh? Just commit a crime by defacing someone else’s property. :tsktsk:

Actually, I just humbly rejoice because I’d just been persecuted for Jesus’ sake.

I really do need to get another one of each of those bumper stickers to cover up the ripped/scraped ones… just so that it doesn’t look like it’s ME who unsuccessfully tried to remove them.

They left this one untouched, though…

I’ve got an “Abortion- The Supreme Court also legalized Slavery” sticker

And a Marriage Encounter " I believe in Marriage " sticker.

My wife has “Equal Rights for Unborn Women” and “Pro-Woman\Pro-Child\Pro-Life” on her car.
 
I used to have one that said, “Only half the patients who enter an abortion clinic come out alive.” It was on a magnet, but I never took it off. I just didn’t want to damage the car.

If I had one now, it would be the Mother Teresa one, “It is a poverty to decide that a child must die so you may live as you wish.”

I’ve often fantasized about making small stickers with the word “death” in the same font and color, to replace the word “choice” on the Planned Parenthood sticker that says, “Pro-child, Pro-family, Pro-choice.” I’ll never do it, but it’s fun to think about!

I also enjoy the one that’s displayed upside down on Jeeps: “If you can read this, flip me over.”

On a more serious note, John Kerry inspired me to put a U CAN’T BE BOTH CATHOLIC AND PRO-CHOICE bumper sticker on my car along with VOTE FOR LIFE, IN YOUR HEART YOU KNOW WHAT’S RIGHT. Everyone knows where I stand and I have only had 1 negative response. Most people ask where I got them. (the 1 negative came from a Catholic…imagine that!! 😉 )
 
I was seeing the darwin fish, the one making fun of the Jeus fish, around college. So, I found the one with “Truth” inside a fish, eating the darwin fish. I think it makes a point.

I did get one inquirey about it… from a college student!

OK I’ll let my ignorance show. What’s a darwin fish look like? I’ve only seen the christian ones.
 
One of the best bumper-stickers I’ve seen was one at a store that said: “bumper-stickers depreciate your vehicle.” 😉

I’d rather get a special pro-life plate like they have in Florida.
