This time of year is definitely a problem. It hurts being around my family, or anyone’s for that matter, and there is just too much of it around now.
Yeah, hardest part of having the kids full time is getting them to relatives on both sides at the holidays. Spent Easter and Thanksgiving at my ex in-laws. Kids need to see their family as more than just mom and dad, not lose touch with the other relatives. In some ways it’s hard to be in their home; but they’re wonderful people and grand parents and have truly been there for the kids.

Holiday visitation stuff is so hard on the kids too…my little one leaves at 2 in the afternoon on Christmas…the day is sliced in half…ughhhh…
Well, we are upon another Friday…the house is soooo empty…can hear the heater go on and off again…

Yep. Kids want to have christmas in their house (mine) but if they invite their Mom, her parents won’t come and vice-versa; so they can’t have everyone and split it up. That’s in addition to trying to see my side of the family- and I actually have a sister flying in this year.

I know what you mean about the empty house. During the three weeks my ex-wife did the joint custody thing it was so quiet. And I felt so lost at night and in the am because kissing my kids good night/kissing them before leaving for work had become such a routine.

In a weird way I know I’ll miss the stuff I gripe about now- messiness, noise, dogs, etc. because it’s all a part of this phase of their/my lives together.

Oh my gosh, your letter just got me crying…it was the part about being lost at night and in the am because kissing the kids , etc…won’t type it all out or I will have to go get a box of tissue!!! LOL! yup, my house gets empty alot!!! I am a little sappy today because my little one had a cold and felt feverish right when I had to leave her yesterday…I so wanted to take care of her…oh well…I am going to focus on your sister coming…hahaa…
Yes, Friday night is here again…there should be a song about that. Hmmm…

Sorry, didn’t mean to get you down. Life is too short to be miserable, we have to focus on the things we have vice the things we don’t. You’re in my prayers.

ETA: Can’t believe my ex-wife is ok with missing all this, even though my kids are older.

My 20 year old made this for dinner… she cooks when she’s stressed and it’s finals week.

My 15 year was listening to music, hanging out and now asking to go get iced coffee (frapuccino?) and my 13 year old is watching youtube videos about the video games he likes to play. Simple hanging out at night – probably get the christmas tree in a bit.

You sure know how to distract a sad divorce mood…with pictures of food…lol! That looks delicious!!! Is she going to go to cooking school?
Decided to watch a movie last night for distraction, and chose Mrs.Doubtfire because I heard it was a comedy…oops…wrong theme for a movie to watch!!! Any ideas on comedies?
Christmas trees are so great! Got mine up last weekend…
As far as not understanding how it doesn’t bother an ex miss out on it all…I could write a book about that one …it is the most incomprehensible thing I have ever seen in my life…I guess they just have no clue… so I pray and pray for my ex…
Off to do some shopping…
Thanks for the prayers! God has so blessed us Christians to be able to pray for one another…
