Thanks!!

If you haven’t seen it, there is a very recent thread about this same thing: [thread=551849] Byzantine Daily Worship[/thread].Does anyone know of a place to get a copy of the Byzantine Daily Missal from then-Fr. Raya in 1958?

The “Byzantine Missal” you are talking about is owned (copyright) by the Ruthenians. Kyr Raya did a bit of work for them in the 1960s when they were getting into English…they will not reprint or sell the copyright. No its the Byzantine Missal. Plain and simple title, but it is a little known work of his that I have seen in libraries but rarely for sale.
Actually as you can not find a copy to purchase it might just mean that. That doesnt mean it cant be bought though.![]()
Its been out of print for decades. I have an old tattered copy…how bad do you want it?That doesnt mean it cant be bought though.![]()
I’ll see if I can find it…sometime late in Bright week I’ll have some time. Remind me if you dont hear from me in a week or so.Ciero,
I want it fairly badly. Define tattered or PM me some pictures hahah
Ciero,Phillip,
I was able to get the Missal from a different source so you can try and get it from Ciero. I love the litrugical work of His Grace Raya and Baron Vinck. These men truly knew what it is to breath with both lungs.
Sorry I haven’t had time to try and find it yet…I’ll let you know.Ciero,
If you are still interested in getting rid of your Byzantine Missal I would be interested in obtaining a copy. Could we possibly work out a deal? I understand if you want to hold on to it.

You can still get the 1995 Byzantine Book of Prayer for $20. Byzantine Seminary Press (illustration and some translations are from Archbishop Joseph Raya and Baron Jose de Vinck):Ciero,

This sounds similar to the new “Publican’s Prayer Book” published by the Eparchy of Newton. Although it doesn’t have the Divine Liturgies, nor does it have Molebens since they are part of the Slavic tradition and not the Byzantine/Greek tradition. I’m not sure what Parastas is. Is it the same as Paraklesis? You can still get the 1995 Byzantine Book of Prayer for $20. I have a copy of Vols. 1 and 2 of “Let Us Pray to the Lord” published by Eastern Christian Publications. Although they don’t have any of the Raya/DeVinck translations, they are still very nice and handy little volumes. I admit, however, that I do prefer the translations contained in the “Publican’s Prayer Book.” For me personally they just feel more poetic and “prayable.” But that’s just a preference.
