We’ve had many feasts in the past months and two major solemnities, as well as the Triduum itself. So is your parish finally getting the new translation down? Musically? Spoken?
The problem with my parish continues to be (as it was with the old translation) that the choir doesn’t sing loudly enough. It’s very bad when no one sings the Ordinary of the Mass except the choir, and they sing-speak it in a medium voice. They want us to sing, but no one will because there is no support from the choir itself.
But as far as acclimatizing to the new words themselves, people pretty much have that down. There were some funny looks from people yesterday, those who had not been to Mass in a long time and were browsing the handouts, but even they basically got it together.
How about your parish now that we’ve been a few months and a few holidays in?
Additionally, there were a few new/changed rubrics for the Triduum. How well did your parish adapt to these?
