Ah, sounds like a vampire tale to me. I once wrote a delicious short story about the “Curse of Cain”.

I used to have the books mentioned here.

FYI, in Jewish tradition Lilith was said to have been the fist wife of Adam, who refused to lie beneath him. But if you have read the works of Zecharia Sitchin, she was more than that.

She is an interesting figure in that there are references to her in ancient Sumer. She was the Night Queen who screeched like an owl. In a fragment of the Gilgamesh she may have been Ki-sikil-lil-la-ke, or translated Lilith, a night demoness with talons for feet. I can see why she was considered a vampiric demoness.

But I would not want to form a religion based on Cain. You get what you believe. I would not want to rely on that to save me.

Interesting though.

I saw it mentioned on a satanism board, idea being Cain was scolded for bringing mere vegetables for an offering as opposed to Abel’s blood offering, so when he then sacrificed Abel’s blood he was rewarded with the Mark so no man would kill him.
He actually was given a mark by God. And he did find a wife in the land of Nod. I always wondered exactly what that mark was.

GENESIS 4:

14Behold, thou hast driven me out this day from the face of the earth; and from thy face shall I be hid; and I shall be a fugitive and a vagabond in the earth; and it shall come to pass, that every one that findeth me shall slay me.

15And the LORD said unto him, Therefore whosoever slayeth Cain, vengeance shall be taken on him sevenfold. And the LORD set a mark upon Cain, lest any finding him should kill him.

16And Cain went out from the presence of the LORD, and dwelt in the land of Nod, on the east of Eden.

Kind_von_Kain = Child of Cain?

She is a vampiric night-demoness, and she is mentioned in Isaiah in the Bible. She is one of the consorts of the demon Samael. Her spawn are called Lilim, and there are two kinds: incubi and succubi.

google cainist…about 700 hits. Ranging from role players on a jedi council forum to Satanists. A cainist is just another word for Satanist.

Hence the new join trolling here is a Satanist.

Interact at your own peril. I will now not open this thread again.

Where in Isaiah?

Well, even if true, which I do happen to know that some who post here are satanists, God loves them and wants them too. Half of my relatives are into the occult. Not all are bad, just deceived. My own grandmother was a pagan.

Who knows, maybe a few who stick around will hear and feel the voice of Truth and and it will speak to their hearts.

Anyone consider whether the OP is a joke? How many of us have actually heard of this professed faith? I don’t believe the OP.
Bingo. Also, Libre de vitae? I’m no expert but if thats supposed to be Latin it doesn’t much look like it.

I had forgotten about that! He is right, it depends however upon which translation you use. But in some the Hebrew word does translate to Lilith.
Code:
Isaiah 34:14):

"The wild creatures of the desert shall meet with the jackals, the goat demon shall call to his fellow, the lilith shall also repose there and find for herself a place of rest."
In the King James it reads like this:

“The wild beasts of the desert shall also meet with the wild beasts of the island, and the satyr shall cry to his fellow; the screech owl also shall rest there, and find for herself a place of rest.”

The NRSV:

Wildcats shall meet with hyenas,
goat-demons shall call to each other;
there too Lilith shall repose,
and find a place to rest.
There shall the owl nest
and lay and hatch and brood in its shadow

And one more, the 1901 American Standard Version:

“And the wild beasts of the desert shall meet with the wolves, and the wild goat shall cry to his fellow; yea, the night-monster shall settle there, and shall find her a place of rest.”

The footnote to “night-monster” reads “Hebrew: Lilith.”

A lot of the goth/vampire/satanist types use “von” like Marilyn Manson’s ex-wife Dita von Teese, and Suicide Girls. It’s just another fad.
It’s also perfectly ordinary German. And yes, it translates to ‘child of Cain’.

My first reaction was like Hastrman’s – but the White Wolf mythos spells the name ‘Caine’. And there’s no ‘liber (‘libre’ looks like a typo) de vitae’ sourcebook I’m aware of.

Where might one find this book?

Since those satanist types also seem to be “von Crowleys” at some point it may be an offshoot of Thelema or something.

I daresay, I think you have touched upon something which is indeed profound and vital to self-understanding (certainly to understanding the nature of sin) – but have taken this one point and have blown it up into a “religion”…

There is no doubt that the most extravagant sins – the potential for them, and, due to the transmission of sin and due to original sin, even the commission of them – exist within each of us. And it may even be spiritually helpful to recognize the murderous and fratricidal impulses within ourselves, if only so that we might all the more crave and cherish salvation. But I suspect that your “religion” is simply harping too much on this one note.

Might I suggest you realize the more generous and benevolent impulses within yourself, along with your affinity to murderers?

And, more importantly, don’t place murder in the center of your metaphysical outlook. Murder is indubitably a principal thorn in mankind’s side; but the appropriate reaction to seeing this fact is a desire to distance oneself from evil urges, not to celebrate them.

Yes. It is no doubt that Lilith is a part of Christian demonology, and is in fact, a real, actual, demonic being, just like Satan or Be’elzebub or any other demon mentioned in the Bible.
