I support his right to name his kids as well, but I support the storeās right to refuse service to someone that is blatenly racist. To name two boys after two of the most evil figures in history (Hitler and Himmler), name a girl Aryan Nation, and to decorate a house with swastikas, they pretty much let everyone know where they stand. I hear a lot of people say āIām not racist. I have a black friend.ā They are usually very racist. As much as I might object to someone raising their child in that manner, I again ask, would it be different if it were a Muslim named Osama with a crescent moon instead? The Dad claims NOT to be racist. I support his right to name his children and celebrate their birthdays.
I think itās better to judge by their action. I know what Hitler did but the name itself never means racist to me. Beside, the kid didnāt choose his name, so why make him bear the burden.I support his right to name his kids as well, but I support the storeās right to refuse service to someone that is blatenly racist. I think naming your daughter Aryan Nation is an action that speaks loud and clear.I think itās better to judge by their action. I know what Hitler did but the name itself never means racist to me. Beside, the kid didnāt choose his name, so why make him bear the burden.
Hereās the problme with making this kind of judgement, in a few years it might be considered sexist or racist or homophobic or some ist or ic or ism to have a Christian name and a cross put on a cake. You and I may disagree with the way the guy is raising his kidsā¦but do we want to set the precedence of stepping in knowing in a few years it might be Christians getting turned away? This is terrible child abuse. What did these little kids do to earn a life advertising what insane parents they had? They ought to be in a foster home with regular names.
Naming a child Osama would be giving a child a common name (I think). Naming a child Osama Bin Ladin and another one Hijacker and asking for a cake decorated with graffiti like the Al Quaeda use for propaganda at home is quite another.
Messed-up naming is a kind of abuse. Like any kind of abuse, itās hard to draw a line, but there are examples that leave no doubt, and this is one of them. Maybe the parents who named a daughter after a part of the female anatomy (seriously happened) just didnāt know, or any of the many who name boys Male and girls Female, but these folks knew better. Itās pretty near impossible not to know better than that. Kids donāt deserve to go through life with names that are signs announcing that they were born to sickos. Itās the first thing anyone will know about them, and how will strangers know if theyāre like their parents or different? Theyāll be judged by someone elseās insanity until theyāre old enough to change their names.
Comparing Christian names to two names in history that murdered and tortured millions of innocent people isnāt a good comparison. Secondly, they name their daughter Aryan Nation which can have only one meaning. They are white supremacists.Hereās the problme with making this kind of judgement, in a few years it might be considered sexist or racist or homophobic or some ist or ic or ism to have a Christian name and a cross put on a cake. My point - today itās swastikas, tomorrow itās crosses (oops, French schools already ban the wearing of crosses on necklaces, if memory serves) and not being allowed to have prayer in schools or the ten commandments on schoolroom walls (oops, you Americans already got that in some places).Hereās the problme with making this kind of judgement, in a few years it might be considered sexist or racist or homophobic or some ist or ic or ism to have a Christian name and a cross put on a cake. Are you comparing Nazi swastikas to crosses? Are you comparing a symbol of hate to a symbol of love? I cannot believe you would even try to make that comparison. They named their two sons after two men who killed millions of people. They named their daughter after a white nationalist group. It is offensive. Stores have rights to refuse service to people for offensive items. Letās say if the guy wanted to put something else on the cake like a racial slang. Should the store have to serve him? āwith what judgement you judge you shall be judgedā.
Crosses arenāt offensive but some Jews find the Crucifix to be obscene. We live in America people we have the right to do lots of stupid stuff if you donāt like it go somewhere else. Plus no offense to African Americans but they name their kids some Fāed up things to āOngewelloā (sounds allot like orange jello) that is not to say that the parents where wrong for naming after those monsters but at least they are real names. Also people of all races have groups who donāt want to see mixed blood, they may like other races but they donāt wanna see mixed raced people. Are you comparing Nazi swastikas to crosses? Iām not, but like it or not an awful lot of non-Christians out there DO see Christianity as a religion of persecution and hatred (crusades and the Inquisition, anyone?)Are you comparing Nazi swastikas to crosses? What is wrong with the State? Why were they allowed to give their children these names? As long as the State allowed them to name their kids that then we have to allow them to get cakes with their names on them.If you read the article, these folks are obviously racist. First of all, they asked for a swastika, so it wasnāt just like they refused to give the guy an Adolf Hitler cake. His intentions were pretty blatant. Then, you find out that the kidās sister is name Jocelyn Aryan Nation, and I have a hard time thinking the dad is anything but a neo-nazi nutjob.
Um because this is the United States of America and not a communist country. I think itās horrible that they picked these names for their children. If the children are loved and otherwise well cared for the state has no business in these peoples lives. These children may very well suffer for the names their parents gave them but these are their children, and they have the right to raise them in whatever belief system they chose as long as it does not break any laws. What is wrong with the State? That is already happening around here. I know a family broken up by such policy. And as far as putting these children in foster care, as another poster suggested, do we really want to start down that road? Do we want the government deciding which parents are too ignorant or bigoted to raise children. Because today it may be white supremacists but tomorrow it could be those who teach their children homosexual sex is wrong. Maybe someday those in power will decide Christianity is too āintolerantā.
I agree that the children shouldnāt be put in foster care for the slippery slope reason. But donāt have any delusions. This child will grow up to be a bigot, pure and simple. The good thing? With a name like that there will never be any doubt about what he is and what his character is.Um because this is the United States of America and not a communist country. Because then we become what we protest - a totalitarian state. The state should have zero say in how a child is named. Child abuse is beating a child, or molesting a child. Teaching a child a perverted sense of racism, while wrong is not child abuse. We must never surrender to the state the right to remove children from parents for political and religious views, however extreme. Then we cease protesting nazism and become nazis. What is wrong with the State? Why were they allowed to give their children these names? As long as the State allowed them to name their kids that then we have to allow them to get cakes with their names on them.
Youād think thereād be some Nazi whoād have come up with the idea of an internet-based cake-icing business by now.If parent want to pull stupid stunts with naming their children, let them ice their own cake.
Racist are not known for their brains. Who else would use the media of frosting for spreading a message.Youād think thereād be some Nazi whoād have come up with the idea of an internet-based cake-icing business by now.
