On what authority do you make these statements? Are you a frequenter of these secret homosexual/bestiality/pedophile meetings that supposedly occur in the bars? Do they have a secret door in the back where they sneak the animals and children in? I mean, come on.

I love all this talk about having homosexuality showed down your throats, but what about all the non-Catholic people who you are trying to impose your will on? Why is it any different? Catholics actively try to recruit and “save” people from themselves. Homosexuals just want to be looked at as human beings and not just what they are in the bedroom. They are not out there handing out “How to be a Homosexual” cards. And yes, I, personally, on the very streets of New York City, have been handed MANY of those types of cards on “How to be a Catholic”. Who’s shoving what where, then?

I would venture to say that you may find tons of Catholics practicing “alternative” forms of sex, but alas, they do it in the privacy of thier own homes! What a concept. Do you really think that every Catholic is ONLY having straight vanilla sex ONLY for the purpose of bearing children? You need to install a camera in everyones bedroom then.

Frequented, no. Been in them and had lots of discussions with gays, yes. That many gays like young men and “twinks” is no secret.

I dare say I can find all kinds of Catholics sinning in all kinds of ways if I wanted to. That doesn’t justify sin, and I think you know that.

Homosexual behavior is a grievous sin in the Catholic Church and is against Natural Law. This is not a political issue. It is a moral fact. The teachings of the Catholic Church will not change on this. So I would not be proud of your sin, as I am not proud of mine. To be proud of your sin is in itself a mortal sin.

Mortal sins are sins for everyone, not just Catholics. Going to Hell is not something restricted to Catholics. So, yes, it is important that people try to warn people that if they continue to sin they will go to Hell.

Or is this statement just a slip of bigotry?
 
I only know what SF gays tell me. It is not common, and in a lot of cases they condem it, but it is accepted as a fringe element of their culture. It is interesting that S&M and leather bars are much more common and acceptable in SF today than it was 30 years ago. They are prominent in the gay pride events now.

It isn’t bigotry, Mike, but I don’t care to pretend it isn’t there either.

Beastiality is a common charge against gay men. It’s disgusting. It inferes that we are so deranged that we use animals for sex. Bigots use this slur often. I trust you are not a bigot. Pls introduce me to these SF gay guys who say beastiality is part of the gay scene. I have some strong words to say to them.

In charity I guess that you meant some gay guys have abused animals in this fashion. Just like some str8 guys have abused animals for sex. I’ll take responsbility for these gay guys’ actions if you take responsiblity for the st8 ones. Deal?

I really don’t want to dwell on it, as far as I know it happens rarely. I am really concerned though with the insistances of the gay community going after teen aged boys and lobbying communities to lower the age of consent. Again though, we have to understand that homosexual behavior really cannot be justified at any age. It cannot be tollerated by a Catholic.
 
I don’t suppose anyone would be okay with a simple same-sex attraction parade. You could have groups like Courage lead it.

Because there are still untold numbers who either attempt or commit suicide because of the attraction alone and they should know they are not alone in their struggle. The parade would not to be glorify the desire but to let them know the presence of others in the same boat. Why must be so silent about it?

Then you want a parade to glorify God and the fact that you have overcome temptation… not a parade glorifying the temptation.

Not sure in this day and age you will get such a parade though…
 
I believe that homosexuality is a sin the same way that I believe that shop-lifting is a sin. My mom always told me to “love the sinner but hate the sin.” There is no sin in being kind to homosexuals, but sin in being unkind. If we (as Christians) want to find a way to reach out to them, I’m certain it will never come out of a discussion of us versus them (the us be heterosexuals and the them being homosexuals), but rather from a discussion that is sinner and sinner. I wish I could quote verse here…but I need to get to class. I just felt compelled to write.

Hmmm — wondering if Arnold supports MLK parades or St. Patrick’s Day parade…let’s try not to disciminate. Lot’s of bad people march in these parades too.

A ban on all parades might be necessary.

Of course the difference is that being Irish or being Black is not in itself sinful. Homosexual behavior and promoting it is.
 
I was thinking about rap music and being drunk in public. I still think a ban on all parades would be fair.
