Please tell your pope that his church shouldn’t be giving the title of “father” to its priests. It’s a no no.Mister would be a no-no too, by your standards, since it is derived from “master”.

Some what you sentence shows some kind of disrespect - just to let you know. Please tell your pope that his church shouldn’t be giving the title of “father” to its priests. It’s a no no.
I’m apologize if I’m beginning to sound unChristian, but did you even read the quotes?I’m not sure what you’re getting at. You seem to think that the word “father” is a no no in all circumstances. It is the usage of that word when it refers to “religious” matters. In other words, please tell your pope to stop giving the title of “father” to the priests in your religion. It’s blasphemy. That title is reserved for the “Father” which is in heaven.
Oh come ON!What is the non-Catholic understanding of this teaching?
If the pope changed the title given to priests from “father” to “teacher”, that would still be blasphemy.I’m apologize if I’m beginning to sound unChristian, but did you even read the quotes? He also says not to call anyone your “teacher”, and I’ve given you examples of people being called RELIGIOUS teachers.
It might be easier if you just read this and get back to us:

What part of this don’t you understand. Your pope has given the title of “father” to its priests.I wish believers would respond to the post before my last one, believers I feel that we’re just going in circles with you, you seem to already made up your mind that your gonna consider calling a priest father blasphemy, when these catholics proved you wrong mulitple times.
gee, i better tell the samething to St. Paul thenWhat part of this don’t you understand. Your pope has given the title of “father” to its priests.
Please tell your pope that he has no right to give to ANY MAN the title of “father”. For one is the Father.
That’s the problem with these early popes and bishops: give them an inch and they took a mileI was wondering why no one dare to correct St. Paul for calling himself father and St. Peter called Mark “son”.
So, some did take this challenge and thus they let their ego drove them? That’s bad, isn’t it.Water wrote:

Now ‘teacher’ is the name given to one who teaches a large group. One who teaches a smaller one is called a ‘tutor’, so surely the rule should extend to tutor’s as well?If the pope changed the title given to priests from “father” to “teacher”, that would still be blasphemy.
Actually the Pope did not do that. In many countries, the term is not even used - it’s really only in the English speaking world and a few others. I know a priest from Poland who never heard of it before - he is used to being called “Priest So-and-so,” rather than “Father So-and-so,” The proper title is either “Reverend” or “Doctor” depending on his level of education. (Who uses proper titles in everyday conversation, though?)What part of this don’t you understand. Your pope has given the title of “father” to its priests.
What errors are you referring to.:ehh:Some protestants NEED something to complain about. I guess it makes them feel as if they are “witnessing” to the heathen. Of course, one has to know that protestantism has discovered all these errors commited by the Church that Jesus Christ Himself founded only fairly recently and they burn to point them out. Some protestants will listen and learn, others are so busy “witnessing” that anything you say is drowned out. Me, I’m kinda like that animal in the zoo who had a sign on his cage that said, “Warning! This animal is vicious, when attacked, he defends himself.”
I was using irony and sarcasm to make the point that the protestants regard many things that Catholics believe as error. The fact is is that the Church cannot teach error. What errors are you referring to.:ehh:
Honestly, read the site. Lots of people are called “teacher” in the Bible. This is ridiculous…If the pope changed the title given to priests from “father” to “teacher”, that would still be blasphemy.
Because they persist in their errors. We give them answers but all they do is cover their ears and not listen. It’s is very annoying.tottally ridculous, the non catholics have been served more then twice and we’re just going in circhles, why doesn’t someone make another thread about the catholic church being the whore of babylon.
