Christianity today is under attack in the United States by those who no longer want to abide by Christian principles. In secular politics, Christian influence is marginalized by laws that prohibit Christian symbols and statues from being displayed on tax supported property or Christian principles from being taught in tax supported schools. If that’s not bad enough, Catholicism in under attack from within by groups who are trying to shift the mission of the Church to meet their own private goals; groups like: Call to Action (CTA), The Association for the Rights of Catholics in the Church (ARCC), National Society for a married Priesthood (CORPUS), and A Woman’s Alliance for Theology, Ethics, and Ritual (WATER). Some of these groups are given positions within dioceses, are paid by diocesan funds, and, yet, work to undermine the authority and Christ-given mission of the Church. This insidious infiltration of groups no longer sympathetic to the mission of the Church is far more dangerous that the opposition of political groups operating outside the Church.

Brian Clowes has written a book “Call to Action or Call to Apostasy?” exposing this danger to the Church. Probably the worst is the wording of WATER’S ritual “Spirit of Sophia.” “In the beginning was Sophia. Sophia was in God’s presence. Sophia was God. She was present with God at the beginning, etc.”

Has anybody read this book or seen this kind of activity in their diocese?

These “Catholics” are going to have a tough time.

The best way to change this nonsense is just to lead by example.

How great the world would be if all Catholics just tried to do what the Church asks of us instead of half of all Catholics trying to destroy the Church.

Especially since all their action will be to no avail, their attempts to destroy the Church is an exercise in futility!

I have read this book bck in the 1990’s It is indeed frightening. Thank God, we have an extremely conservative and orthodox Archbishop where I am. I pray for those who do not.

I read that book several years ago, as well. Good information and a good heads up for those who are unaware of the subversive nature of most of these groups and how insidiously they work within a parish.

We had quite a hotbed of these types here who were brought in and nutured by a sister, who was an “associate” something here for years. They ran everything; no Catholic teachings allowed.

Then Bishop Vasa arrived and they got their walking papers. None of these groups are allowed on church property. The sister left to go back to her liberal group in CA, and those involved have crawled back into the woodwork. They emerge ocassionaly and try to present some crazy speaker, but usually go to the local Lutheran church to stage these programs.

Some still come to mass, but they are clearly dissident and I imagine they are feeling like fish out of water here now. Our new priests are orthodox and direct in dealing with heresy.
