I didn’t know the Church did stuff like this. From AllAfrica.com:
In preparation for civic and parliamentary elections later in the year, the Cameroon Episcopal Conference, (NEC) through its Justice and Peace Commission on Monday April 9, begun training over 30 election monitors from all the 23 dioceses in the country.
While opening the training exercise, the Bishop of Buea Diocese, Rt Rev. Immanuel Bushu, noted that this was the Church’s own contribution to the democratisation process in Cameroon.
“The elections are an aspect of community and national life. We are not doing politics but as prophets we have to talk. We need to form those who are supposed to stand in the name of the Church to help the people to know how to choose their leaders at all levels,” Mgr Bushu told The Post
