Can an ex-sex offender become religious or Priest?

what price is forgiveness if certain sins/crimes are never forgiven although they are in the confessional they aren’t by society. what is it really teaching about forgiveness, the whole message.

what price is forgiveness if its only exercised at certain point. This is where we struggle and try to humanize God and wonder how He forgives and loves the sinner when they are causing everyone else grieve. That person is hurting too though they mayn’t no it. God loves us all. And that person needs forgiveness more so than the ones who are forgiven readily.

With regard to becoming a priest or deacon and the sex offense was with a minor in the US: Never. The US Charter for Protection forbids clergy from ministering in that case.

Such strict restrictions are not in place with religious (if they’re not working in ministry), or if the offense is not with a minor, or if outside the jurisdiction of the US. But given the current climate, it is unlikely any diocese or order would take someone with a history of a sex offense unless it’s of the type that is absurdly light, such as drunken public urination once twenty years ago.
 
Interesting, so, are you sure its atomaticly forgiven in the confessinal?

We say that is what the new liberalized mind is, but we dont agree its an automatic.

alienation cannot be reason away, it has to be healed.

YOU cannot merel say, OH, im sorry, you have to make it right, heal it.
YOU cant merely walt into confession and say a sin , making all right again.
YOU have to Heal it, and better to go heal it, before confession, than after,

Get the OLD books out kiddies (sorry to be soo harsh) this new liberalized Catholism is the path to hell, its not that easy.

Forget what the government says, look at the Epistles of St. Paul, the requirements for clergy are high. They must have impeccable moral character. If the offender truly repents and perhaps goes to a monastery, perhaps they can become a priest there and only function as one within the community. But publicly, even the Apostles themselves would not allow it.

Yes, there are a lot of things in this world that do not make sense, one of them is a Priest continuing to choose to live in mortal sin. It just shows how human we all are, even Priests and Bishops. We must pray for our Priests, who are probably even more attacked by the evil one.

What also confuses me is when a priest would leave the Catholic Church to become Protestant. I am learning that even with the best Catholic seminary training and schools, Priest and Religious, as well as all lay people (and people in general), need to personally respond to the God given grace for a continuous conversion of heart.
