Well, I really don’t see what the big deal is about using the word “Allah”… it does mean God in Arabic.
There are millions of Arab Christians all throughout the Middle East and Northern Africa that speak in Arabic (with the exception in some parts of Syria, Lebanon where small groups of Christians speak Aramaic). Sometimes they will refer to God as Allah or for the most part use Raab=God, Ya Raab=My God for example.
I don’t see anything wrong with calling God merciful and compassionate being he was addressing a Jordanian delegation. He is not going to get all into Catholic religious terminology, so he simplified by using words Allah, compassionate and merciful.
Just look at the Devotion to the " Divine Mercy ". I don’t think this would be constituted as invoking the Islamic God.
I think its best not to read too much in-between the lines which can make us see something that is not really there.
And I don’t see charity in using examples about bombs… nor see how this is of benefit to others in this thread.
God bless all
