Can Catholics be Democrats?

That those who want prayer at government functions usually mean “I want MY sort of prayer”. They don’t want those pesky Catholics or Muslims or Jews or Mormons or Hare Krishna, etc. praying
 
Ray Moore may or may not be guilty. But I support the most Catholic candidate in any race.

Every public school event I have attended where there is a prayer (football games, ceremonies, Meet Me At The Flag, Christian Athletes, etc.) the prayer is led by a Baptist or non-denom minister.
 
Re the study of liberals self-reporting; I admit I did not read the article only the synopsis. Could it be they are just more candid? And of the hundreds and hundreds of liberals I grew up with and know, I don’t know a more gentler and loving group of people.

I am just asking what’s your actual objection?
 
The unspoken idea that to be on Team Elephant means that you are a good Catholic because Team Elephant encourages prayer in school and at government meetings. Honestly,that is a pretty lame reason to cast a vote IMHO but to each his/her own!

My point is that these forced prayer at government meetings is not really a Catholic thing.
 
My opinion would be it’s not a Protestant thing as well. But that’s maybe me.
 
I thank God for the services my elderly mother and disabled sister get, as well as the services my severely disabled nephew gets. I think throwing money at these poor people has saved their lives.

I guess the same type of objection that a Substitute Priest had with our 11:00 music man. He was playing songs written by Protestants. He had a real problem with the Christmas song " Mary Did you Know"…

“Catholic” meaning what you consider to be Catholic, right? In reality, it seems you support the most conservative candidate in any race. I mean, you probably wouldn’t support Nancy Peolisi, even if she were running against a Muslim, as long as that Muslim was for minimum government and lower taxes.

Just to be clear, that is not a party survey, but a survey on two candidates.

I think amazing grace is in our hymnals.
I think the Priest is more concerned about the Modern Protestant Variety of songs.
