I genuinely can’t believe that so many people really seem to think that the GOP is the Christian party.
Would anyone object if I say WE don’t?
Because the difference between the American right and left is that when the right goes off the path, they are called out, whereas the left tends to make more excuses and circle the wagons to defend big government at any cost.
Those who support the GOP recognize the situation quite well, thanks.
Their platforms are misaligned with the teachings of Jesus in so many ways, it’s laughable.
Ah, yes! More general accusations with no proof or examples! The calling card of the young American left!
f you want to be a one-issue voter, then go ahead,
:ehh:
More than one issue is being discussed, and true conservatives almost always are never one-issue voters.
I’ve only seen that in Catholics who cling to “help the poor” or some financial incentive (unions) who vote against, well, the rest of all their principles.
And then people whine when the government starts pushing the Church around like “how could this happen, golly gee, I sures didn’t expect that!”
As though it
really would’ve made any difference for them at the ballot box or something.
but don’t try to convince yourself that everything else the GOP is doing is moral.
The implication behind this comment is flawed. Conservative voters don’t need to convince themselves (ie line up one-dimensional excuses) to feel better about themselves. They understand basic principles based on fundamental truths. There is no more solid ground than that. :yup:
Also, conservatives are skeptical of the GOP. Has anyone besides me seen the polling in the last three years? It’s just awful. The left needs to remember that the next time a TEA PARTY person runs in a primary, but of course, they can’t stand it even if they laugh in their sleeves at GOP division.
