It seems to me that humans are unable to create anything. We merely rearrange previously existing material. Even all ideas have preexisted in the mind of God since before the creations of time. What thinks you?
I disagree wholeheartedly, but we have no way of proving either of our beliefs. However, when I look at a Shay Steam Locomotive, I see the genius of a human being to create an instrument that performs a very specific task well. Of course, since we are humans, there were competitors…a very human thing. It seems to me that humans are unable to create anything. We merely rearrange previously existing material. The story is told of a man who thought he was as creative as God. So God challenged him to a contest. They would both take some clay and make a human being out of it. When the man scooped up some clay, God said “Sorry, You gotta make your OWN clay!”I disagree wholeheartedly, but we have no way of proving either of our beliefs. Okay, but what word shall we use for the process through which we arrive at ideas that are new to us?It seems to me that humans are unable to create anything. What about new born babies? It seems to me that humans are unable to create anything. We merely rearrange previously existing material. Even all ideas have preexisted in the mind of God since before the creations of time. What thinks you?
We call it creation. This is a language problem because we do not have a label (a word) for the meaning which we seek to describe.Okay, but what word shall we use for the process through which we arrive at ideas that are new to us?
Where did the sperm and egg come from? Who created the process of pregnancy? Certainly not the mother and father. The sperm and egg came from their bodies which came from their parents’ bodies, all the way back to the first two humans who came from God. We merely reassemble and already present material. What about new born babies?
Not only that but the things we do reinvent are best when they mimic God’s design. It seems to me that humans are unable to create anything. We merely rearrange previously existing material. Even all ideas have preexisted in the mind of God since before the creations of time. What thinks you?
I certainly hope not. Plus, if you are so certain in your own mind, why ask for thoughts?Oldcelt: God has already thought of every thing, every ideas, every concept, action. He knew us before he we were born. All-knowing is part of the job description for God.
Velcro closures were patterned from weeds called cockleburs where the little sharp objects cling to your clothingNot only that but the things we do reinvent are best when they mimic God’s design.
There is a neat study on the seahorse and how it’s body armor can collapse in when attacked, which allows it’s skeletal frame to avoid being crushed. It can be squeezed to half it’s size. Military and self protection uses can be extracted from this concept.
Yes. However, as pointed out by others, only God can create from nothing, as Jesus did when creating the universe. It seems to me that humans are unable to create anything. I don’t know…I’ve always thought some of the nicest things I’ve seen were created by humans. Sounds like world of forms. It seems to me that humans are unable to create anything. I agree…I just can’t see Michelangelo and DaVinci as cut and paste men. Man’s creativity and talent should not be seen diminishing God.I don’t know…I’ve always thought some of the nicest things I’ve seen were created by humans. Sounds like world of forms.
We ask God for help so even though he knows the result because he will not force himself upon us even for our own good. Both love and free will are involved.I certainly hope not. Plus, if you are so certain in your own mind, why ask for thoughts?
BTW…that’s not how I view God.
God loves us and has given us each different talents. Even good and righteous administrator benefit the entire community as well as great artists, writers and musicians. God will not force us to use the gifts he has given us. Love is never forced.I don’t know…I’ve always thought some of the nicest things I’ve seen were created by humans. Sounds like world of forms.
Well, I’ve contributed what I had to offer. Be well.We ask God for help so even though he knows the result because he will not force himself upon us even for our own good. Both love and free will are involved.
