Feeling embarrassed when confessing it is also a good lesson in humility. Other posts above contain good advice. At my parish my priest/spiritual director knows who I am, knows my voice, and even though our confessionals have curtains behind the screen - he stills knows me
, so he once told me to ājust blurt it outā. The sin that was concerning me at that time wasnāt one of impurity, but being a sacristan there - it was still really awkward. But I decided to conquer pride and confess to him. The seal of confession is absolute and it hasnāt changed at all how he relates to me in anyway at all.
So just go - confess it and receive Godsā forgiveness and with your firm resolution of amendment, exit the confessional in gratitude to God, and joy at being able to āstart againā.
