Ah, now the excuses we’ve never heard before start to come because you’re guilty of doing it yourself.

And we do not pray TO the piece of stone anymore than you dwelling on the ink and paper when looking at a picture of your loved one.

And what am I still doing here anyways. I told myself I’d not debate this with you anymore since I’d have more promise debating with my lamp post.
I think what is called for is a request for answers to all the scripture verses that have been presented to him that he refuses to answer. Otherwise we are just asking to continue to be insulted because of his tweaking what little he knows and his ignorance to the remaining scripture.

come on men, try to hide your ignorance at least. who started the reformation? who was the CC main oponent? there is still hard feeling even untill this day.
he was only one man, one man that stand up againt a WORL POWER. now this is the work of God brethers and sisters.
It’s hard to take seriously your accusations of “ignorance” when your posts are filled with such a plethora of spelling and grammatical errors (setting aside the gross historical and theological errors). Spell check is your friend! Plus, proofreading shows you care. 🙂
God bless you friend. keep sourching.
Yes, we will all keep “sourching”. 😉

And what’s your excuse for God commanding graven images to be made right after you believe He apparently told them not to?

EXAMPLE 1)

16 And you shall put into the ark the testimony which I shall give you. 17: Thenyou shall make a mercy seat of pure gold; two cubits and a half shall be its length, and a cubit and a half its breadth. 18:** And you shall make two cherubim of gold;** of hammered work shall you make them**,** on the two ends of the mercy seat. 19: Make one cherub on the one end, and one cherub on the other end; of one piece with the mercy seat shall you make the cherubim on its two ends. 20: The cherubim shall spread out their wings above, overshadowing the mercy seat with their wings, their faces one to another; toward the mercy seat shall the faces of the cherubim be.
26:1 1: "Moreover you shall make the tabernacle with ten curtains of fine twined linen and blue and purple and scarlet stuff; with cherubim skillfully worked shall you make them….31: "And you shall make a veil of blue and purple and scarlet stuff and fine twined linen; in skilled work shall it be made, with cherubim;
i don’t know about you but i don’t see anything in that text that say to worship any images.
my eyes must be bad. can you please point out where it say to worship, pray, give offerings to the image?
EXAMPLE 2)

7: And the people came to Moses, and said, “We have sinned, for we have spoken against the Lord and against you; pray to the Lord, that he take away the serpents from us.” So Moses prayed for the people. 8: And the Lord said to Moses,** “Make a fiery serpent, and set it on a pole; and every one who is bitten, when he sees it, shall live.”** , 9: So** Moses made a bronze serpent**, and set it on a pole; and if a serpent bit any man, he would look at the bronze serpent and live
did Gos tell them to worship the image? or did he tell them to look upon it? my eyes must be bad here too. can you please show me were it say to worship the serpent?
you see. this is the God i serve. he never contradict himself. as oppose to the one you serve, he cant make up his mind. he does not have any word you can believe in because at any time when ever the church like she can add or remove.
make no mistake about it, He who has the power to change anything and cannot be revoked is the boss.

God bless

:Who called for its formation?
dnelson:
Christians called for its formation after the disciples died for proof of what they believe. 2Tim3:14-16
I guess Im a little confused – this verse says nothing about calling for the formation of a New Testament to be added to the Old Testament and jointly being declared “The Bible”. That was what you were supposed to be answering. Im not at all surprised by your failure to answer the simple question asked of you.
By whom was it compiled and initially translated as the Bible?
dnelson:
by King James of England. He had the manuscripts. they translated the bible we use today. well, the credible ones anyway.
Code:
This is too silly to even address with any seriousness. King James had the manuscripts??? From whom – exactly- did he get them and how do we know they are authentic??? You seem to have enough intelligence to recognize the absurdity of your claim so I will have to assume you are not using that intelligence. As anticipated, you don’t have coherent answers to some basic questions about the bible – this answer reveals that basic lacking more than anything I could say. I do thank you for answering honestly.
dnelson:
we know that it was not the CC because she was trying to destroy all the bibles. isn’t that right. but how could you know that. they did not tell you that right?
This is a diversion, but I will briefly address it. Its not that “they” didn’t tell me that, it just that the version I have heard is a little different than yours. The Church encountered fraudulent copies of Scripture, uninspired texts, etc being put forth by a variety of individuals as “The Bible”. When they encountered these they destroyed those copies. I am grateful that the Church, the pillar and foundation of truth, was there to accomplish this, and it makes good sense.
You would like us to believe that after preserving the “original manuscripts” for centuries, that the CC then went about destroying them – is that right? That doesn’t seem logical to me. It’s a partial truth that you have been told – it is not the whole truth.
Who determined the canons?
dnelson:
well it was King James again. God inspired his translators to know what books did not contradict his word.
I notice you are a little vague on your source for this information. It is a prophecy - or something else??? It is something else: a “tradition of men” that you claimed to reject. I don’t even think King James nor his translators even claimed to have been inspired. You did that for them. I believe you simply made it up because you need to believe it in order to have any level of credibility. I, for one, am not the slightest bit fooled by such a ridiculous claim.
dnelson:
the canon was determine by sensible God fairing Christians. in other words God decided what was going to be in the cannon.
This is an extrabiblical claim passed on to you thru the “traditions of men” that you claimed to reject. Do you reject traditions of men in word only? Or do you simply decide which traditions of men you wish to accept? I think you claim to reject them but actually accept those you wish to accept – like the tradition of men that you offer above.
40.png
Philthy:
If you prefer my shorter list, here it is again:
**Who - exactly - compiled the bible?
When-exactly- did they do it?
How-exactly- do you know? **
dnelson:
done that.
Code:
I disagree and I think you purposely avoided answer my questions completely because I - wisely – included the word “exactly” in each question to force you to explain how – exactly – you knew that “King James compiled the bible”, how it is that you know that “faithful Christians” determined the canon and how and when - exactly - they “called for it” and accomplished the other necessary tasks involved in creating the Bible. The reason I did so was two-fold:
I knew that in attempting to answer such simple questions you would reveal the complete absurdity of your testimony, your historical ignorance, and your bias, Secondly I wanted to reveal what I perceive as your hypocrisy when you claim not to believe the “traditions of men”. **All the claims you make regarding the WHO, WHAT, HOW and WHEN of the Bible are traditions of men. ** You do indeed accept the traditions of men, but you are simply selective in who you choose to accept, and in this sense you are no different than Catholics. The only difference is that Catholics admit it and have a traceable history of succession to the Apostles. You deny it and have no such Apostolic continuity. You failed, IMHO, to clearly articulate the details I requested and the sources of the answers you did provide. And no one needs to take my word for it, it is on display for all to see.
so, here is your answers, hope you are satisfied. i bet you though i was going to give some bogus replay din’t you?
Actually I was counting on it - and I wasn’t disappointed! Thank you for your frank and honest replies.
it seams i’m a lot smarter than you
Yes much smarter, as anyone can see, and you are very humble as well.
dnelson:
OK i’m ready for this one.
Me too, but I think rather than continue to intellectually engage you in addressing what is patently absurd I am simply going to reiterate that you have been told lies and hope and pray that God’s will is done through this. I don’t blame you, I blame those that have misled you…
dnelson:
Blessings
Thank you! God’s will be done…

can you tell me were did you find the word pope in the bible? ok lets say he did. were in the bible did jesus say that when he died you needed a new one?
any answers. i rest my case.

God bless
can you tell me were did you find the word TRINITY in the bible? ok lets say he did. were in the bible did jesus say that when he died you needed a TRINITY?
any answers. i rest my case.

i will await your replay.

God bess
Here is what she teaches: A person that dies with a mortal sin on their soul and does not repent will go to hell and be punished for eternity. A soul that does not have a mortal sin on their soul (or has one but repents) but still has venial sins on their soul will go to Purgatory to be purged of their sins and be made sinless. A person that dies without any sin on their soul (unlikely but possible) will go straight to heaven and be with God. I don’t know where you get your false notions of Catholic doctrine but you had better start looking to Catholic sources for Catholic doctrine my friend.

Zach

P.S. Don’t give me a bogus answer without a reply where you just are awestruck like the second reply you gave me.

tell me something. do you think that the pagans was praying to trees and rock or to the God that thouse things represented?
I don’t see how this is relevant and I don’t know what pagans believe and I don’t care. But I can tell you that Catholics DO NOT pray to statues, we use them as “pray aids” just as you use the Bible. Now don’t go saying that “YES CATHOLICS DO WORSHIP STATUES” because you have been told numerous times that we don’t. You can look it up on this forum and I’m pretty sure you won’t see anyone but Protestants saying that Catholics worship statues.
i see you know the verses. i wonder what excuse you have now?
No excuses just answers.
the problem is not images. the problem is when you try to make them represet God. and pray to them.
See, now you’re getting it! That’s precisely why God forbid the making of images because no one had seen Him which was demonstrated in Deuteronomy 4:15. But, we have seen God! We’ve seen Jesus, we know what God looks like so now we can make images. Jesus fulfilled this law with His Incarnation (Mt 5:17) Once again, Catholics DO NOT pray to statues.
this is just amazing, just amazing.
May God help you
I’m sick of the worthless answers you give when you can’t say that Catholics are wrong anymore. If you’re stumped just say so, you’ll gain more respect that way.

Zach

So King James was inspired to assemble the Bible and that’s how we know the Bible can be trusted? Of course, the immediate follow-up questions is: Exactly how do we know that King James was thus inspired? Did he claim to be infallibly inspired? Did the heavens open up and God descend down and say “This is my inspired translator, listen to him”?

i don’t know about you but i don’t see anything in that text that say to worship any images.
my eyes must be bad. can you please point out where it say to worship, pray, give offerings to the image?

Why are you repeating this again after I had already explained why I gave you that verse? Are you intentionally being stubborn here? You know I gave those verses to prove to you that ‘ONLY’ making the Graven images, which is what you were first implying, wasn’t what God commanded against. It was obviously the worshipping of them which we do NOT do.

Ah, now the excuses we’ve never heard before start to come because you’re guilty of doing it yourself.

And we do not pray TO the piece of stone anymore than you dwelling on the ink and paper when looking at a picture of your loved one.

And what am I still doing here anyways. I told myself I’d not debate this with you anymore since I’d have more promise debating with my lamp post.
cant stay away cant you. will i will tell you why you keep coming back. it is because you lose the debate. you see you want to prove a point but every thing you throw out there dissolves in your sight.

i just don’t understand you. you say that I am idolizing God’s word. i guess you will have to be a Catholic to understand what that means. this must be the most silly thing you have ever said.
lets see if i ca pain the picture that you are trying to draw.
I’m guessing you have a Girl friend or a Wife. ok we are going to jump start this from here.
your wife comes to you and say: Baby i love you so much i would give my life for you. you are the best thing that happen to me. i don’t know what i would do without you, i promise with all my heart to love you with every fiber of my being until death do us part.
ans she make good on her promise, she fills your life with love, joy, purpose, meaning and every thing in between. she have you walking on the moon. you cant even express what you feels for her. the word you try to put together just don’t seams to do justice to what you feel for her. so all you could think to say is: I love you and i would give my life for you with out a second though. you see you have to associate what you feel for her with an action. words just can’t express it, so you tell her what you would do. with tears in your eyes and a knot in your throat you say: “Love”, i would die for you, yo have filled my life with joy i never dreamed possible, you, you, you … and you cant even finish what you wanted to say. the emotion associated with those words are just too strong. and you melt in her arms.
she does not say anything, but in her eyes you know she understood every thing you did not say.
well hate to put an end to the love story but lets get back to the point of the mater.

there is an accident and she did not make it. you are devistated, your whole world is ripe out from under you. you are lost in the middle of the ocean, every thing you stood for seams to b violently shaken to peaces. it is hard for you to assimilate the reality of this atrocity. you feel like you are losing your mind, nothing makes sense anymore.
the only thing that gives you comfort is her memory, she is not here but you can still remember her last words. now a light come on in your head. she had writen you many letters.
in desperation you go to the garage ans start to dig all around until you find them.

every day you read one or 2 letters.
one day a friend come and tell you. you are worshiping what she said to you. you are turning her words into an idol.

now tell me how can you seperate her from the words on those letters?

as you can see your accusations does not make any sense whatsoever. furthermore, God said that he has put his word above all his name.
by his word we remember him. and when we read his word it is to know him and what he has done for us. well i think i have made my point.

**i have a statement and a question for you. lets see if you or anyone else will answer.

God said: the soul that sinneth, it shall sorely die.
The serpent said: you shall not sorely die.

Now can you please tell me what the CC teaches? How long will the wicked live in hell fire?
Don’t be shy, just say the truth, now after you tell the TRUTH tell me who is she repeating? God or the Serpent (the Devil)?**

May God bless and keep you

<–continued from post #304–>
the CC says to call me Father
-Jesus said call no one father, for only one is your father and that is God.
Pleas, please phrase your accusations in a manner that is understandable. We do not call the Church father, we call our priests father. This is only following the example of Paul in 1 Corinthians 4:15

15 For though you have countless guides in Christ, you do not have many fathers. For I became your father in Christ Jesus through the gospel.”

Paul became the spiritual father of the faithful through the Gospel. That’s why we call our priests father, so as you can see, the practice is purely scriptural.
the CC says that evolution is a posibility
-Jesus said in six days he maid heaven and earth.
I don’t know much about this subject so I’ll leave it up to the more learned folks here.
the CC worship the Queen of heaven
-God condemn the worship of the queen of heaven
The queen of heaven that God that YOU speak of appears in the book of Jeremiah, chapters 7 and 44. The queen of heaven referred to, of course, was the moon which those people worshiped. The moon was an idol wich was forbidden by God. It is true that Catholics call Mary queen over all things (CCC 966, based on the eleventh chapter of Revelation, which we all know you don’t wish to talk about), we DO NOT worship her. This is spelled out very clearly in the Catechism, paragraph number 971:
971 “All generations will call me blessed”: “The Church’s devotion to the Blessed Virgin is intrinsic to Christian worship.” The Church rightly honors “the Blessed Virgin with special devotion. From the most ancient times the Blessed Virgin has been honored with the title of ‘Mother of God,’ to whose protection the faithful fly in all their dangers and needs. . . . **This very special devotion . . . differs essentially from the adoration which is given to the incarnate Word and equally to the Father and the Holy Spirit, and greatly fosters this adoration.”**The liturgical feasts dedicated to the Mother of God and Marian prayer, such as the rosary, an “epitome of the whole Gospel,” express this devotion to the Virgin Mary.
It is taught BY THE CHURCH that Catholics do not worship Mary and that worship is for God alone, so if you would kindly STOP saying that we worship her, I think everyone would be a little happier.
the CC sacrifice Jesus every mass
-the bible says Jesus was once sacrifice for us
FALSE: We do not sacrifice Him every Mass, we re-represent His “once for all” sacrifice of Calvary just as He instructed us to do (“do this in memory of me”) under the visible signs of bread and wine at the last supper.
the CC says that she has the keys of heaven and hell
-Jesus says I have the keys of heaven and Hell
FALSE: The Catholic Church, along with the Bible, teaches that Jesus Himself gave Peter the keys to the kingdom of HEAVEN (not of hell too, that’s not Catholic teaching at all) as demonstrated in Mt 16:19. Where does Jesus claim He has the keys of heaven and hell? Will you start providing VALID PROOF for your ridiculous accusations?
the CC says she can forgive sins
-the bible says only od can forgive sins
FALSE: The Bible clearly shows that Jesus exercised His authority to forgive sins AS MAN (Mk 2:10) and that He delegated that power to the Apostles (Jn 20:22-23). The power was, by necessity, to be passed down through the ages because man would alwys sin and would always need forgiveness.

Please give actual responses to my answers and prove to us that you are so much smarter than us. Thus far you have said nothing to convince us that you are any more knowledgable about the Bible, the Catholic Church, and God Himself than Des’ lamp post.

Zach

P.S. Please address my posts, numbers 292 and 293. Thank you.

**i have a statement and a question for you. lets see if you or anyone else will answer.

Don’t be shy, just say the truth, now after you tell the TRUTH tell me who is she repeating? God or the Serpent (the Devil)?**
Here is Catholic teaching on hell:
1033 We cannot be united with God unless we freely choose to love him. But we cannot love God if we sin gravely against him, against our neighbor or against ourselves: “He who does not love remains in death. Anyone who hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him.” Our Lord warns us that we shall be separated from him if we fail to meet the serious needs of the poor and the little ones who are his brethren. To die in mortal sin without repenting and accepting God’s merciful love means remaining separated from him for ever by our own free choice. This state of definitive self-exclusion from communion with God and the blessed is called "hell."
1034 Jesus often speaks of “Gehenna” of “the unquenchable fire” reserved for those who to the end of their lives refuse to believe and be converted, where both soul and body can be lost. Jesus solemnly proclaims that he “will send his angels, and they will gather . . . all evil doers, and throw them into the furnace of fire,” and that he will pronounce the condemnation: “Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire!”
1035 The teaching of the Church affirms the existence of hell and its eternity. Immediately after death the souls of those who die in a state of mortal sin descend into hell, where they suffer the punishments of hell, **“eternal fire.” **The chief punishment of hell is eternal separation from God, in whom alone man can possess the life and happiness for which he was created and for which he longs.
1036 The affirmations of Sacred Scripture and the teachings of the Church on the subject of hell are a call to the responsibility incumbent upon man to make use of his freedom in view of his eternal destiny. They are at the same time an urgent call to conversion: “Enter by the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is easy, that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. For the gate is narrow and the way is hard, that leads to life, and those who find it are few.”
Since we know neither the day nor the hour, we should follow the advice of the Lord and watch constantly so that, when the single course of our earthly life is completed, we may merit to enter with him into the marriage feast and be numbered among the blessed, and not, like the wicked and slothful servants, be ordered to depart into the eternal fire, into the outer darkness where "men will weep and gnash their teeth."
1037 God predestines no one to go to hell; for this, a willful turning away from God (a mortal sin) is necessary, and persistence in it until the end. In the Eucharistic liturgy and in the daily prayers of her faithful, the Church implores the mercy of God, who does not want “any to perish, but all to come to repentance”:
Father, accept this offering
from your whole family.
Grant us your peace in this life,
save us from final damnation,
and count us among those you have chosen.
I bolded the important parts. As you can see, the Catholic Church teaches that there IS a hell and that GOING THERE IS A REAL POSSIBILITY. The teaching of the Catholic Church is more inline with God’s than yours precisely because IT IS GOD’S TEACHING. When will you start backing up your hollow accusations with facts and scripture? You won’t because you’re not trying to share your twisted version of the truth, you’re just trying to make the Catholic Church look bad, something you fail at miserably.

Zach

P.S. I’ve answered every time you thought that no one could answer. Isn’t that funny?

i have a statement and a question for you. lets see if you or anyone else will answer.

God said: the soul that sinneth, it shall sorely die.
The serpent said: you shall not sorely die."

Is this what you are trying to quote?

Gen 2:16 And he commanded him, saying: Of every tree of paradise thou shalt eat: 17 But of the tree of knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat. For in what day soever thou shalt eat of it, thou shalt die the death.

Gen 3:3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of paradise, God hath commanded us that we should not eat; and that we should not touch it, lest perhaps we die. 4 And the serpent said to the woman: No, you shall not die the death. 5 For God doth know that in what day soever you shall eat thereof, your eyes shall be opened: and you shall be as Gods, knowing good and evil.

The Church teaches that our souls are immortal. the early Christians believed this. The scriptures teach this. God created time when he created the universe. He exists outside of time. Hell is separation from Him,and the knowledge of that separation. You do not “live in Hell”, or in Heaven in any earthly sense. Heaven is being with God, and Hell is existing without him.

Is this what you are trying to quote?
I think he’s trying to quote Ezechiel 18:4 or 20

4 Behold all souls are mine: as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, the same shall die.

20 The soul that sinneth, the same shall die: the son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, and the father shall not bear the iniquity of the son: the justice of the just shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him.”

I’m not sure if that’s it either, but i think it is.

Zach

Ok, but where does the serpent come in then??
He has me sorely confused!😃

I know how you feel. I think he’s attacking Purgatory, how we say you won’t go to hell if you go there. To him that’s the equivalent of telling all Catholics that they can’t go to hell (die spiritually) which is what the serpent convinced Eve of. I’m not sure if that’s right but I couldn’t come up with a better explanation…do you have any ideas?

I have read that SDA’s don’t believ in Hell…it’s you die when you die kinda thing. That doesn’t make much sense because oblivion is not punishment. And Scripture does tell us that Hell is punishment.

Actually it’s because you’re such an easy target. You’re a poster boy for anti Catholic ignorance who continues to expose yourself everytime you speak. The lurkers looking into Catholicism are getting a good idea of the kind of people out there like yourself who just rant off anything against the Church that you read from your own little circle of truth and take it as fact.

And there really isn’t much of debate here from you to be honest. Just alot of nonsensical posts.
i just don’t understand you. you say that I am idolizing God’s word.
Quote me where I said that please.
now tell me how can you seperate her from the words on those letters?
You just wasted your time posting that paragraph cause as usual, I can’t make any sense out of it.
well i think i have made my point.
Sorry, but you have far too many grammatical errors in any of your posts to even make sense let alone to make a point.

I think they believe in Hell but it won’t be eternal. God will get rid of it when Christ returns as opposed to allowing everyone there to suffer for all eternity.

Where do these people come from? Don’t they have some other writings that they believe are inspired as well? Kinda like the Book of Mormon but for SDA’s?
